We have ships for everything and multipurpose uses, but something gives me a pirating spirit about a ship that ye be fast as she plunders! Ye be talking about Raider Ships and for ye use only!
Spy / Stealth Technology for stealth perhaps as suggested?
Asteroid Requirement?
Teleport Technology?
Weaknesses:
Large Ships: Battleship, Destroyers, etc.
Planetary Defenses: Flak Gun, Solar Cannon, etc.
Concept Information about Raiding Ship
The ship is designed to raid fleets incoming and outgoing from planets and plays a waiting game and strikes a transport or a transmitter. It won't be considered as a transmitter because of its special ability to raid other targets for their resources!
The limitations are that you can only build three of them for your account and the ship is somewhat finicky against larger ships that defend the smaller ones that carry cargo!
OR
We could allow the limitations pending on how many planets you may have and of course we may need the galaxy scanner as apart of the limitations!
This will allow players to play somewhat of a game of piracy in space and I got the idea from Cow Boy Beebop from the freighters being able to raid other ships while in flight!
Please Note: I'm not basing it off of a transmitter as most assumed, I'm basing it as a way to commit space piracy as a possible way to attack and get resources from ships.
Piracy Message Report
Strike those fleets where it hurts, their cargo hold and the ship has a special little toy known as the tractor beam to bring it right in and make a get away. The ship does however have a good offense to break a fleet, but it relies on its speed as a defense to make it back to safety.
The Innocent bystander would receive a message with the subject Piracy that his or her fleet encountered a raiding ship that swiped his or her ships cargo while leaving some damage in the wake of the raid with the Raiders coordinates and perhaps has collected some resources from those ships that have become scrap.
There will also be a battle report to go along with it and of course the ship could fail to raid another ships cargo or destroy the ship.
How to collect rewards
Send ship out towards your targeting planet, your ship will wait for the incoming or outgoing ships to attack from either stealth or no stealth at all. Within our ship is a new little feature that isn't aboard other ships, the tractor beam which pulls in objects into its cargo bay (Sort of the same concept as the recycler and somewhat the approach a of a transmitter).
The waiting Raider Ship will attack to break open the enemy ship leaving it wounded and exposed, the cargo will be taken from the target along with some space junk such as metal that has broken off of that ship.
However your Raider Ship won't loom over the targeting planet for too long, a timer will be a judgment of that. Stays waiting around the planet for about 10 minutes or so and returns. Its like a game of fishing or a game of tag.

It think it also need Stealth Technology (you know to steak to the victim.) . Like level 5.
Stealthy Transmitter.
Sounds plausible to have stealth, but why are people calling a transmitter... <><"> I do get the slight joke of it, but a transmitter? Can a transmitter raid other ships? No!
