Can any one explain why we don't have a research capability to improve the output of our blast furnaces?
We have mining tech which improves the quantity of ore we mine, so wouldn't it make sense to have the research capability to enhance our metal production by the same value as 1% that we have in our mining tech. it would only eat up pig iron faster and as we have to stay within our attack zones it would only make things a little more interesting as far as the game goes.
Thoughts pro or con would be appreciated,
BLACKFOG
Simply put, upping metal production with a tech or new building was determined to be a bad idea balance wise. This idea has come in several forms, from a 'smelting tech' to a convertion building; and all have been rejected. Also, this idea (mining tech for metal) is listed in the sticky thread with all the other pink elephants (ideas that will never be excepted) so this thread is moot. Check that thread first next time, and post something like this on the speakers corner for discution or in the user to user sections of the board.

How about instead of a research tech to up metal production or building to mine metal, having a research tech to make the pig iron to metal smelting more efficient.. The way it is set up now, no matter how high or low your tech is it is the same rate for you. This implies that either utter noobs already have the tech to smelt with 100% efficiency, or that there is room for improvement with the development of better smelting tech, i.e. no higher output from teh furnaces, but less PI consumed, which could be rolled over into expanding your blast furnaces, or on any other mine you want. Something for everyone, isn't that nice.
Obviously it would be expensive, but it wouldn't really destroy the balance of the game, in my mind, as trade rates fluctuate +-20% around the building output rates anyways, depending on who is offering what and how much of it.
Obviously I didn't bother to search the previous posts for this idea, or worry about it being on the sticky of No-No's, but I am sick of people grabbing the simplest answer to their problem, which is always a bigger hammer unfortunately, and posting the same things over and over. Think outside the box, brainstorm, write your idea out, chat about it a little in your alliance, THEN post it to the board so that it doesn't get flamed ten seconds later.
now go ahead and flame me...

Interesting idea, but what would the gain of changing the PI-M rate? 2-1 is already low enough that people literally have millions of units of PI sitting around doing nothing. Reducing the convertion rate wont let people build more, just leave even more PI sitting around.
As for using a bigger hammer on what amount to bad or ill thought out ideas, I personally thought I was using a very small polite hammer, but thats just me

Demhunt has a trade request up for 1KM PI, or 1Billion PI if I read it right, so it seems there is not enough piggy in the uni after all.. The effect reducing the conversion rate would have is a little bit of payoff for the guys with the big mines who have ridiculous costs to upgrade, this would let them eke out a little more per hour without the inherent leap in energy cost that upgrading to the next level would be..
BTW I wasn't actually seriously proposing the idea, as I am certain it has been shot down at least once in the past.. I was just blowing off some steam after an exam.. But if you want, take it, give it a home in a new thread and by all means lets talk about it.

Actually, the convention rate adjustment is one of the better ideas I have seen, even if only tossed out there as a red herring idea.
As to someone wanting to trade for a billion pig, that just tells me that person doesnt want to spend the spice to raid it. Pig is everywhere. There are inactive with zero points that players like myself in the past have dumped millions of units on. Why? because we were sick of looking at it, or it just took up top much room in ES to keep around. The majority of any take in a raid tends to be PI because 99% of the players produce it faster then they can burn it. Anyways, we seem to have go off topic, so that said, Im done.

Your not in the Game or at least not Active I guess?
DemHunt is a good Raider, and the Biggest Trader in the uni, not lazy
I raid aswell every Red Player in my Area gets Farmed by me if I see enough Res [yellows not always empty those]
Still I got 80 mil Spare Krypto or as you also can say 200 mil Pig shortage
PS the German have a Different Trade Rate now: 12:5:6:2

He does raid, lol.
He also runs a trade shoppe that rakes 15-20% off the top, and functions on volume... Which I would do myself, if I had the time, and had the well time...
Anyways, go for it, keep the idea alive, give it a home, and lets seriously debate it until one of the flamers notices the thread, but I am off the class like a squirrel on crack now!
