Extra time to spend holiday currency

Is there any chance of adding some extra time to use the holiday currency after the event ends? I could not log on Sunday so have lost nearly 150 cakes that would have made a massive difference to my budding airport. It's not like the event would be extended or anything, just give us a chance to spend what we earned.

Its a sad face Skyrama has given me today, taking away my delicious birthday cake.

Unfortunately the event could not be extended.
