I agree with you--most accounts are lost due to that persons greed leaving him open to be conned.--to give pw and account name away---
However knowing some people in the IT branch do leave back doors open for them to get in if needed ---these backdoors then also being used by hackers-I wouldnt go as far as saying any system is safe--Bill Gates thought this and look what happened at microsoft.
The biggest way accounts are ripped off is by the person running third party programmes to hack a programme---Examples Diablo WOW 2 games at bnet where users wanting to cheat got cheated by the cheat makers---Some suggestions have been made by people that they suspect such programmes are being used for seafight---If this were the case then the offer being made to the person for hacking the account would be seen small in comparison to what that person can get from the people using their programme if such exists.
In a way I wish someone would hack the account and then give details of how its done just to prove no programme is 100% hack proof. Yet at the same time I hope that people try and fail---And in this case also inform you that they tried and failed--this would put a lot of peoples minds at rest.
Or maybe you have a protokol which lists security breatch attempts made which you could print without giving away any of you security secrets.
Either way this is going to be interesting

Yes it is true not every system is 100% safe that is a known fact, but our point been, that if people had access to our systems why would they steal accounts? Why would they steal lvl 3+ accounts that do not have full pearl cannons?

Why would they not just create there own accounts? Since they have access to our system they could do what ever they wanted have what ever items they wanted.

The fact remains that they do not, that is not how accounts are getting stolen and this will prove just that.

The prize will be more than sufficiant.

I think its impossible to hack any account if not to give logg in infarmation and mail information to other players. im members since 2 years and no one could hacked my account. just some people try to hack my mail adress whatever my account register a secret mail so no one know about that

I'm no computer whizzkid, so I won't disagree with anything anyone's said in that respect. However, I do believe that I have a good grasp of human nature, cognitive distortions and group dynamic's.

Conclusion: - whatever you do, people will continue to behave in naive and inane manners, making it possible for others to steal their accounts. They will then externalise the blame for their own stupidity, call someone else a "hacker" and tell everyone that it's Seafight's fault and that Seafight has an obligation to get their ship back.

However, it should be fun.

If there are truely any individuals out there that are able to 'hack' accounts, it is highly unlikely that they will take the bait and tip their hand.
Having said that, I think this is a great idea to show to the majority of people that cry "my account has been hacked" that the system is relatively safe and that most so called "hacked" accounts are actually stolen accounts. Either the individual has shared the login and p/w with someone else who may then have passed it on to someone else etc etc. The other thing is that all players need to ensure that their p/w have a strong encryption which includes numbers and small and capital letters. 123abc is not a strong password. If a player responds to an email claiming to provide them with free stuff and thus give their acct info and then are surprised when acct is stolen?????
Hopefully this exercise will reassure players that accounts generally can not be "hacked" and will stop the flood of allegations on the board of their accounts being "hacked"....stolen maybe but not hacked

Anyone else here ever had a white screen instead of a login page which clearly shows your username user id and password ive had it on this account and my main account.

Now Terrorise think about what you just posted and do you really think these "Loyal" players and donators to Sea Fight are going to even attempt to hack this game that they love so much ?
Now for the "real person or persons hacking or stealing accounts"
do you really think they are going to try or succeed in hacking your made up account ?
Common get realalistic mate !!
Now dont get me wrong ... some of these players are going to try seeing how your baiting them with free stuff.
But in the long run its not going to be done by the ones who can actually do it just for the fact they are not going to give their real identity away.
