Default The new Voodoo Shield System

Ahoy Pirates!

The Seafight seas are a hard, rough and dangerous place. But aye, they should at the very least be fair. You have surely crossed oars with certain players that have used beams to exponentially increase their HP. To ensure that this will no longer take place in the future, we have completely revamped the HP system. There is now an HP cap, which puts a limit on possible HP.

Feast your eyes on the Voodoo Shield! All ships will now be equipped with a shield containing voodoo points that attackers must first penetrate. All damage sustained will be deducted from these shields. Only after your shield points are at 0, will the damage go to your HP. But be aware! The voodoo shield can’t just be repaired using common tools. No, this requires something dark, something magical… It requires amulets! To be more specific, 3 amulets – the Ogoun, Agwe and Legba. The Ogoun and Agwe can be acquired with pearls. But have no fear brave warriors of the sea. Every pirate will get on free shield, completely loaded and ready to go.

Of course, you will be able to increase your HP, but the new system has a limit on the max amount of HP. The new beams will also play a part in making the game fairer. The new carpenter will now have more abilities and be entrusted with more tasks. For example, all beams in the future must first be installed by the carpenter. This will help keep HP amounts under control.

Good luck in a fury of fair fights with the brand new system!

Default Voodoo Shield System

Ahoy Pirates,

We have now fixed the problem where players received HP in the Cauldron of Aruba even though they were fully repaired. Now, players will receive another randomised item.

The similar problem with the glitters on the sea chart is still being worked on but should be fixed in the coming day or two.

Your

Sea-fight Team.

Default Your Feedback on the Voodoo-Shield System

Hello everyone,

With the last update we introduced a new system to the game: The Voodoo Shield System.

This new systems adds a special shield to your ships, essentially doubling the number of base Hitpoints your ship can take before it may be sunk. One very important reason for us to introduce this new system to the game was that the original game concept never meant players to have an uncapped, extreme amount of Hitpoints. We understood that one reason for some players to use unauthorized third-party programs, farming ridiculous numbers of Glitters, was that Hitpoints kept adding up, giving these particular players an unintended and unfair advantage in their battles with other players.

The next reason was that some of you asked for items that could be used to spend the pearls you have been saving up lately. So we decided that the Voodoo Shield Amulets will permanently be available in the Market Cove.

The final reason for us introducing this new system in an attempt to make Seafight a much fairer game again, was that we hope to extend and expand this system in the future, adding more tactical variation to the game.

We understand that the sudden change has taken many of you by surprise and led to some confusion. Therefore we would like to apologize by giving all players who logged in at least once in the last three months a set of 10 Ogoun-Amulets (each worth 10,000 Voodoo-Points) and two of the rare Agwe-Amulet event item (restoring 25,000 Voodoo Points).

Also we would like you to know that we want to hear your feedback on the Voodoo-Shield system as there is still room for improvement. If you have any suggestions, questions or such, please keep posting in the related discussion thread!

Thank you,

Your

Seafight team

Ahoy Pirates,

We are hard at work on the voodoo shield system and we still want you to continue posting your feedback in the discussion thread. After the sync today you will see our first step put to action with newly reduced prices of the Amulets so that the Ogoun Amulet is now 250 pearls and the Agwe Amulet is 500 pearls. As mentioned in the first announcement about the Shield System, the cooldown period between each use of the Amulets has now been added.

Making more functional changes to the way the shield works will take a bit of time. All of your feedback will be gathered and discussed within the team which will form the basis of the future changes.

Thank you again for all your great ideas, please keep them coming,

Your Seafight team
