Light of Tortuga

I'm under the Light of Tortuga just sailing around picking up shiny's when a ship I'm sailing past just starts shooting me! I bought the light with pearls, specially so that I could go around without getting shot.

Please rectify this.

Dude where does it say that you can't get hit with the light of tortuga?
You can get shot all the same its just harder to spot you is all.
As long as you dont shoot back or do some tricky map changing or run into an island under the light and it will be hard for them to keep a lock. They track you from the shots hitting your ship then they can tell your direction but it doesn't say anywhere that you can't get shot just that you lose it if you fire and it makes you invisible

How about this? I got targeted by some guy while I was under the light of Tortuga, and the next thing I know, he's pounding me while I'm sailing around like an idiot wondering why I can't shake him only to see the Tortuga light is gone! This is the second time this has happened to me.

Sometimes it shows that it is off when they shoot you but you refresh and it will be back on

That is correct just because you have the light does not mean that you are invinceable. You can still be shot and you can still be sunk. So long as you do not shoot back you do not lose the light.

NO, the guy chased me half around the map, he could see me. I made a turn he followed suit. I've been playing this game for two years, I know when someone sees me versus taking shots in the dark. I'm not stupid. I can always shake a guy when I have the light, I'll get maybe two or three shots against and that's it. This time and the other time it happened, no matter what I did they stayed right on me, and I ended up down to 50k or less before I just had to start fighting back. I DIDN'T shoot and I lost the light.
