How can I upgrade my cannons and ammunition with crystals?
Upgrading your cannons (http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/showthread.php?t=430280)increases the likelihood of scoring a critical hit as well as the damage inflicted by a critical hit. Upgrading your ammo (http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/showthread.php?t=430279)increases the amount of normal damage you can cause.
Cannons
You can upgrade your elite and event cannons (http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/showthread.php?t=430280)with crystals (http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/showthread.php?t=429381). For a first-level upgrade, both cannon types require 1 crystal per cannon. A second-level upgrade requires 3 crystals (http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/showthread.php?t=429381)per cannon, a third-level upgrade requires 6 crystals, and a fourth-level upgrade requires 10 crystals (http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/showthread.php?t=429381). To upgrade to a fifth-level cannon, you’ll need 15 crystals (http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/showthread.php?t=429381)per cannon.
Once you’ve upgraded all your elite and event cannons to the first level, you’re 4% more likely to score a critical hit, and your critical hits will inflict 4% more damage. Every full level upgrade increases the likelihood of a critical hit and the strength of your critical hits by another 4%. If you haven’t upgraded all your cannons to the same level, the percentage lowers.
Every cannon upgrade takes a certain amount of time. If you upgrade two cannons at the same time, it’ll take twice as long. Three cannons will of course take three times as long to upgrade, and so on. The amount of time required for an upgrade increases with every upgrade level.
Please note: This information applies to one cannon.
Please also note: During the upgrade the cannons are not available. You will find your cannons after the update in their old place.(Shipyard/Storage trove)

You spend pearls to reduce the time it takes for each cannon (http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/showthread.php?t=430280)to upgrade.
You have two possibilities:
Either cut the upgrade time in half

Cannonballs only have one upgrade level. You need 1 crystal to upgrade 1,000 cannonballs. The damage caused by explosive cannonballs will increase by 5, while the damage caused by shrapnel cannonballs will increase by 10. Ammunition upgrades will take place immediately.
Please note: All information applies to 1,000 cannonballs.
