what they are basically saying is that their castles aren't working, they have got them castles active but they don't notice any difference on the speed between other players.

just 1 question thou, have you got your slots or upgrades leveled up?, if you got a slot on level 2 and the upgrade on level 5, your castle will only work on level 2, the same for vice-versa,
if you got upgrade on level 2 and slot on level 5, your castle will only work on level 2.

so basically what I'm on about, is that you need both of your slots and castles, on the same level, so they will work properly, so that would be:

Slot: 1/1 :Upgrade
Slot: 2/2 :Upgrade
Slot: 3/3 :Upgrade
Slot: 4/4 :Upgrade
Slot: 5/5 :Upgrade

Having checked your account your Castle extras are working fine. Please note :

The centerboard increases yer ship’s basic speed by a certain number of knots.
Example: If yer ship’s top speed is 30 knots and yer ship is loaded with cargo, then yer ship will have a basic speed of 25 knots. If ye use the level 2 centerboard, it will increase yer ship's basic speed to 28 knots.You don’t increase your maximum speed with this extra.

If you wish to increase your normal sailing spped you will need :

The sternpost increases yer ship’s top speed.
Example: If yer ship’s top speed is 30 knots and ye use the level 5 sternpost, it will increase the top speed by 10%, allowing yer ship to sail at 33 knots (3 knots faster).

Yes the sternpost increases your speed, the center board allows you to carry more cargo without affecting your speed.
