Ahoy Pirate,
The 'bricks" under a players ship are the ship decks. The yellow bricks are gold decks, and the blue bricks are elite decks.
Here is the available info on ship decks....

http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/images/icons/icon1.gif Ship Decks FAQ
What are decks and where can I buy them?

The decks expand your ship on the sea chart and support you with pirates, cannons or reinforcement beams, depending on your level of equipment. You can decide for yourself if you want to have a battle cruiser, play it safe and build a well-protected transport ship or cause chaos on the Seven Seas with a boarding schooner bursting with swashbuckling pirates. You can buy the decks under the menu item “Decks” in the shipyard or in the market cove. The price of the decks will increase with every deck of its category bought. Your ship can be expanded by a maximum of 8 decks.

There are two types of decks. They differ in the amount of space on board, the basic equipment available and their stability at sea.
The teak deck is paid for in gold, has 6 free slots for crew or equipment, has a maximum of 1,000 hit points per deck and withstands 30 ship capsizes with ease..
The mahogany deck is paid for in pearls, has 10 free slots for crew and equipment, has a maximum of 2,000 hit points per deck and even withstands 60 ship capsizes.

What can I do with the decks?

Under the menu item “Accessories” in the shipyard, you can buy a reinforcement beam for your deck. You can continue to buy cannons and pirates as usual under “Weapons”, “Hideout” or “Market cove”. Under the menu item “Storage trove”, you can organize the items which were sent to your ship after buying them on the different decks on board your ship. If you don’t have any items in your storage trove, then you won’t be able to equip your ship decks! Shall it be a battle cruiser, a schooner or rather a merry mixture of them all? You’re in charge of your ship’s continued course of action in battle!

How much do decks cost?

The deck prices are as follows:

For the teak deck:
1st deck = 100,000 gold
2nd deck = 210,000 gold
3rd deck = 440,000 gold
4th deck = 930,000 gold
5th deck = 1,900,000 gold
6th deck = 4,000,000 gold
7th deck = 8,500,000 gold
8th deck = 18,000,000 goldFor the mahogany deck:
1st deck = 15,000 pearls
2nd deck = 22,000 pearls
3rd deck = 32,000 pearls
4th deck = 48,000 pearls
5th deck = 70,000 pearls
6th deck = 100,000 pearls
7th deck = 140,000 pearls
8th deck = 200,000 pearlsWhere can I see how many more pirates, cannons and reinforcement beams I can take on board?

Under the menu item “Storage trove”, you can choose the tabs “Ship” and “Decks” to view what you currently have on each of the decks on your ship. Your storage will have a technical maximum for 1.200 pirates. Cannons and beams you can insert unlimited.

How can I equip my decks with pirates, cannons and reinforcement beams? How do I remove these items from my deck?

Simply select the tab “Decks” under the menu item “Storage trove”. From there, click on the button “Cargo” and you’ll be brought to the deck’s cargo. In this window, you can click on the corresponding arrow keys to move items from the storage trove onto a selected deck, or from the deck into the storage trove. One click on the single-headed arrow will move one item of this type, whereas a click on the double-headed arrow will move all items of this type.

How much does it cost to repair the decks? How often must I repair the decks?

Deck repair costs 500 pearls for a normal player, whereas a Premium player only pays 250 pearls for deck repair.
It’s up to you to decide when to repair your decks. Under “The shipyard” -> “To shipyard” -> “Decks”, you can see how strongly damaged your decks are, expressed in percent per deck. Warning: If your decks have fallen to a damage level of 100%, they will be destroyed and lost forever in Davy Jones’ locker! Your decks will also be damaged whenever your ship is sunk. To completely repair your deck, click on the “Repair” button in the deck overview under ““The shipyard” -> “To shipyard” -> Decks and then on the damaged deck.

What happens with the items stored on the decks, if your decks are ever destroyed/sold?

If your decks are destroyed the items will be returned to your storage trove. In such cases you won’t lose any beams, pirates or cannons. If your storage trove is full, the items will be put into interim storage. If you sell a ship deck all items get lost which are stored on that ship deck. Look to it that you beforehand move that items back to the storage => please see Changes with ship decks and Event cannons/harpoons in the market cove (http://en.board.bigpoint.com/seafight/showthread.php?t=135822) for changes in this, ty.

I’m too lazy to calculate: What will I have if I equip my ship with the maximum number of each item?

8 teak decks: The maximum value of hit points for your ship automatically increases by 8,000 hit points.

Cannons: There’s room for an additional 48 cannons on your ship.
Pirates: A total of 144 pirates more can fit on board your ship.
Reinforcement beams: The maximum value of hit points for your ship increases by 28,800 hit points

8 mahogany decks: The maximum value of hit points for your ship automatically increases by 16,000 hit points.

Cannons: There’s room for an additional 80 cannons on your ship.
Pirates: A total of 240 pirates more can fit on board your ship.
Reinforcement beams: The maximum value of hit points for your ship increases by an additional 48,000 hit points.

There will be some new/changed stuff with the ship decks which we will figure for you here.

Cannons

You can buy cannons in Weapons -> Cannons or you buy or purchase them by auction in the Market Cove. If you don't have anymore place on your ship your bought cannons will put through the stock. There you will have the possibility to relate them to the ship decks.

Pirates/Captures

You buy pirates in the Hideaway. If you don't have anymore place on your ship your bought pirates will put through the stock. There you will have the possibility to relate them to the ship decks or your ship. You still have the possibility to arm your pirates in "My Crew" in the Hideaway. Good preparation is everything!
The maximum for pirates on board will be increased to the current maximum of 255 pirates. In future that maximum will be higher and it doesn't matters, if you have ship decks on board or not. According to that the amount of dropped pirates will be increased due to a capture. The more pirates are fighting the more pirates you will loose. Please attend the maxmium of 1200 pirates in the stock.

Beams

You can buy beams in the Shipard or buy or purchase beams by auction in the market cove. Due to the fact that you cannot arm your ship with beams your bought beams will put through the stock. There you will have the possibility to relate them to the ship decks. Beams for gold will give you 150 maxHitpoints and beams for pearls 600 maxHitpoints.
