Bug: Super Fuel
I'm reporting this because it's a repeatable bug and should be taken care of. I couldn't find a way to contact someone without posting it in the forums, and I apologize.
If someone purchases an Engine Cl.4, it gives that ship an additional 40,000 Max Fuel.
If that person then refuels, as normal, their Total Fuel is raised to their Max Fuel.
If that person then scraps the Engine Cl.4 and replaces it with any other engine, their Total Fuel doesn't drop by the 40,000 that the Engine Cl.4 gave them, even though the Max Fuel does drop.
I discovered this because I bought Cl.4 engines for all my ships, decided I didn't like the consumption to speed ratio, then scrapped them to buy my Cl.3s again, and yet my fuel I had beforehand was still there.
Example:
Transport Lv 20 has 40,000 fuel, completely refuel.
Total Fuel: 40,000 | Max Fuel: 40,000
Buy an Engine Cl.4, completely refuel.
Total Fuel: 80,000 | Max Fuel: 80,000
Scrap Engine Cl.4, buy engine Cl.3
Total Fuel: 80,000 | Max Fuel: 40,000
See the problem? You now have double the fuel (and yes, it doesn't drop down when you start moving to what it should be, it reduces with just normal consumption of the Cl.3 engine). As a side note, if you go to Refuel A, it does nothing. If you go to Refuel, it defaults to a negative number in the box equal to the amount over you have.
Granted, it's not very exploitable, as the cost for the Engine Cl.4 (32,000,000) far outweighs the cost of the extra fuel it gives you (12,000,000), especially considering you have to fuel it up to start with by paying that 12,000,000. But it's a bug nonetheless.
All it really does is extends the time before your next refueling by charging you 32,000,000. Some people may consider it worth it to double their travel distance.
