I agree. It is very nice to test things and request comments before introducing a new feature, so that disasters can be avoided.

Also the BETA version requires alot more mouse movement from left to right when clicking things, thus straining the wrist even more than is.
I just did the tests and ignored the harvester to see how it would be without it and unfortunately I have to agree. This beta version makes things worse and requires more mouse movements.

I just tried with 1x1 plots and it is now very hard to go through a row of plots and water them by hand, because each click falls a bit outside the next plot in the row. So instead of doing click (select plot) - move (over the water button) - click (water), click-move-click, click-move-click and so on, it is now necessary to add one more move : click (select plot) - move (over the water button) - click (water) - move back (new move required to recenter the mouse over the next plot), click-move-click-move back, click-move-click-move back, ...

Result: twice as many mouse movements required.

Also, because the new menu is larger than the old one, it is shifted even more when one reaches the edges of the window. The result is that there is a high risk of having more missclicks when reaching the end of a row or column of plots, because the menu appears in a different position relative to the plot and a different button pops up under the mouse.

Please change the position of the buttons so that it is still possible to go through a row of plots without requiring twice as many mouse movements. Also try to make the menu more narrow because a wider menu increases the risk of missclicks. As it stands now, this change would make the game much more painful without the harvester.

Thank you for asking our opinion!

Like This about Beta:
Menu stays up better - old one disappears if your cursor doesn't follow the right trail

Do Not like
  • Cursor/mouse have further to move for options on ends, see "Suggestions" below
  • "Done" button is further away from cursor than old design
  • "Done" button changes position from field to field (such as those fields closer to the edges of the screen), more so than old design.

Suggestions:
  • With new layout, put water at the middle areas, where they are closer to where the cursor is (@ 2 & manure @ 3) - and spaces on either side of them
  • Automatically resize the Selection Box, depending on what options are available. Thus, Done or Time Left on EP-givers would show a small icon (such as when we hold Ctrl & only the last planted crop appears)
Comments
For EP-givers, its icon covers first part of name, for example:
"nyard Tree" (Barnyard Tree) - well, sometimes. The 3rd time I clicked on it, it was OK

Overall, I like the new design. But, if a couple changes aren't made to prevent misclicks & less mouse movement, I'd vote it down.

Default Testing

I liked it. I found it clearer to read and more focused on one animal or plant.

I don't mind the new beta menu for the crops and animals (then again, I use the harvester and wouldn't play Farmerama if I didn't have the machinery), but I loath it for the EP givers.

I have all the owls and activate them every 30 mins when I can. The old menu, soon as I clicked the EP giver, the done button was right in front of my mouse. With the new beta, the done button is a lot further away. I have to move my mouse way too much.

Part of this problem is the new beta for EP givers is huge. Why do we need so much wasted yellow space? We don't. All you need is a short square box with the done button right there where ur mouse pointer is. We don't need a long oblong menu for the EP givers.

Even worse for the EP givers pop up, they stick. That is going to be a nightmare for people who don't have the harvester.

OH, almost forgot, as others pointed out, you forgot a mulch button for trees.

I have to agree, the new layout makes the 1x1's and the ep-givers extra hard to do. The pop-up we have now at least helps out in the park when harvesting a line of 1x1's (centers over the next in line to be harvested). The new one requires you to hunt for the next one to be harvested, which is hard when your park is full.

The new layout works good for the stables and 2x2's, but causes more movements for your hand when doing the trees or 1x1/1x2's. Very tiring and getting too much like work.

I have tried the new Beta testing. Personally, I love it. (Plots & Animal Pens) So neat to view.

As I have learned from others mistakes to take a second, pay attention to what I am clicking on.

Realizing that you cannot implement every "wish list", the only wish I have is to put the order as follows:

(Left to Right) Water, Fertilizer, Super-Grow, all other enhancers in the order of your choice. Letting the last option (far right) be the event enhancers.

This way, if there are or are not event enhancers, it would stand out immediately. Remember we are creatures of habit. We learn from repetition.

MODS, Thanks for considering Farmerama Fans suggestions. Big Point still #1 in my book.

My sentiments exactly.

i use the harvester for everything else, so makes no difference to me. The only thing I would like to see on the harvester is the Manure placed before the Super grow on the seeder and the water placed before the Super feed on the Farm droid.

I feel this will not help. The icons need to be moved, they are not placed where you tend to instinctly click. The example shown above seems to be a great idea... move the super grow and suzie out of the way!!!

I really like it. The box makes it less likely to click the wrong thing. could there be a tad more space between the pictures Especially on the animal pens? I almost clicked power feed again! lol
The fiend crops were good I wish the water was in the same placement that is what really threw me off lol. No matter where it ends up I will eventually get used to it though so its movement its not that big of a deal.
I really think the animal pen pictures need spaced out better the power feed is just to close to the regular feed and the water.
So far that is all I can see that needs to be changed. I love the look of the new boxes and they are way more functional than before.
not to repeat myself to much but ya I would love more spacing for the animal power feed from the regular feed and water.

I forgot to add the EP giver wedding arch is missing the text that your partner needs to collect the EP still.
I like the new design for it as well its fine its not in the way its the same box and I like the box so much for the crops and animal stuff I could care less about the EP at all lol
It works and is functional for thee other items I will get used to it for EP collection.
Most people hate change I am one of them, but functionality outweighs the need to keep things the same. This change will be great and needed.
