Default Darn Ladybugs

Our carnival event was great. Hey, every time I planted a crop I got at least 1 carnival candy! I had a great time with the carnival game, and the last Halloween game, but doggone it, this last game with ladybugs is the pits! I get the most ladybugs on the first crop, then POUF! next to nothing for the rest of my session. Of course, I never got much passed lettuce levels, but still, I was up for the game when I had time. Mostly, I could not collect enough darn ladybugs. What a bust! I knew it had to be harder: the stakes were higher, but this was one stinker of a game for me. Bah! Humbug!

I must agree with you fannie. The ladybugs are very slow to come by. I think you should get at least one each time you harvest a field, but that is not the case. Oh well, better luck next time. Happy farming to all.

I think some of the problem was that many players chose to grow all the low level crops themselves. Now I do understand the carrots might have been expensive for low level players, but the total cost of all the lettuce & carrots only comes to 11 k if you got them at the seed store. Just the lettuce only comes to 2800 cc

There were many things that had gone up in price that making the needed money wouldn't be that hard to do. Low level crops just don't really drop items very well. It was really the choices we made.

I know I made this same mistake myself until my sister pointed it out. After I started growing just the higher crops and of course the highest level crops at night, I got a lot more ladybugs.

I didn't want to make anybody feel bad but maybe next time we have this kind of event I'll figure out the cost value first then choose what I will do.

Unfortunately, planting the higher value crops doesn't guarantee ladybugs either. I have gotten no ladybugs from whole fields of blue bells or gooseberries. I have gotten most of my ladybugs from my animal pens. It's kind of disheartening, because if things don't pick up, there is no way I will get the tree. I'm enjoying the flea market though.

Yep, regardless of what 'they' say you get more tools and ladybugs, etc when you plant the higher level crops. I can harvest six or seven fields of lettuce, carrot, wheat and not get one ladybug, but let me plant half a field of potatoes or bluebells, etc and i get 2 or 3.

I also find that the first crop of the session be it in the morning when I get up or at night when I come home from work has the most. I sometimes get 12 to 15 from one harvest provided its potatoes or higher.

Default Hiding ladybugs

With the carnival event, I had candy to spare (well over 200 extra), but am finding the bugs hard to come by.

However, I guess it makes sense. The trade in value after the even is over 3 times that of the carnival candy, so maybe they were meant to be a lil more scarce. I just wishtheyhad exteneded the event for a day to make up for all the lost time/crops we had back at the beginning with disappearing crops.

Well you have to keep in mind that even if blue bells & gooseberries are your highest level crop that in the game as a whole those aren't really high end. The highest crop level is level 80. Then your trophies, if you use them also come into the factor.

My biggest harvest is in the morning too, I average around 30 + but with a total harvest count of 144 that still isn't a high percentage about 25 %. At least they did structure the event in a way that you really don't need to get all 300 + ladybugs to get the tree and/or flea market. At first glance I thought it would be hard for many players to get both but after doing it I can see where it was possible to achieve.

I also seem to get more ladybirds from the first harvesting in the morning - however, I plant high-level crops overnight, but sometimes I don't even get a single one from potatoes or corn and then 3 from a field of carrots. I think it's far more random than the hearts, which seemed to reduce towards the end of the event and I didn't manage to finish, though I did complete both the Alien and the Candies. This time, I got similar numbers on the first harvest every day of around 30.

However, I think the event is fairly well balanced to enable even quite low-level players to finish the Spring-Cleaning - since after the initial Silver level 30 ladybirds, you can complete each of the following levels and get the Flea Market without needing any ladybirds.

I think the trick is to go for each Silver level then go back and complete the Gold and Platinum when you have enough of the goods. I realised that, after the Valentine's event, when I just worked through each level that I could have a better strategy to get what I wanted.

I still haven't completed the Gold and Platinum 1st level spring cleaning and one or two of the Diet Plan, but I might do that tomorrow if I get enough ladybirds, but what the heck, it's been fun and it's a game that's free if you want it to be.

I get more in the morning and the first harvest when I come home at night as well. I am not overly concerned about it though as Spring Cleaning only required about 30 ladybugs and then was reliant on crops and such to get the flea market prize. As for the tree, I am only about 5 ladybugs away from that one as I just completed the Silver challenge on each level and then worked on Level 5 to get there. If I have enough ladybugs remaining I may go back and complete some of the other challenges for the CCs or the Supergrow but...I win enough of those on the wheel to be honest so probably not. Will hold onto them most likely (if there are any) for the EP they'll bring.
