Frage Holidays

I recently noticed that the thermometer of one of my neighbours was showing red. I am a little worried about this aspect of neighbours as I am supposed to be going on holiday myself early next year and will be away for a whole month. Is there no way we can register this option so that it doesn't affect our neighbourly status?

There is not a way to keep your thermometer from going down. You can notify support if you will be gone for longer than 30 days so they can keep your account open. However this doesn't stop your activity from dropping or others from deleting you.

Anything else today?

Ausrufezeichen Long overdue

This is a part of the game I really have trouble with, esp given how many Farmerama players live in Europe, where folks actually get vacations! There is a similar question every time I visit the forum, and many new features implemented but no plan to do anything about this.

Another bigpoint game I play (Emporia) has a simple toggle for vacations lasting more than 2 days. This isn't hard programming to do.

My hunch is that the reason this hasn't yet been implemented (and won't be) despite many and continuing player requests is that there is already a *paid-for* option to have your farm taken care of. So, you can sign up for that for the month you're away, or get weedy and viney. Take yr pick.

What I did when I went away was clear all my fields, clean up all my pens, but NOT feed or replant. Fruit trees may get vines if you're away a long time, but at least yr animals won't suffer and you won't come back to a lot of weeds.

I appreciate the mods and developers of this excellent game. I just wish they'd be honest about the reason 'vacation mode' ain't gonna happen, and end the discussion.

Well unfortunately even if there was a "vacation mode" this would not stop other players from deleting your due to inactivity. If you were gone for 2,3 or 4 weeks many neighbors would delete you due to the fact that you're inactive. As I stated earlier, support can keep your account open so that in the event of extended holidays it won't auto delete.

The Developers and support do read through the ideas and update pool to see for suggestions and new game implementations. However sometimes something that seems very simple is in fact much more complex to implement. Also the most pressing issues are dealt with first.

So, does the OP have any further questions?

My neighbors and I regularly communicate about holiday absences. I've never deleted anyone for going on holiday if they let me know. When I was away for 2 weeks, no one deleted me - they all knew where I was and that I'd be back soon. Nothing stops them from deleting me... right. But that's not the question.

What's pressing seems to be different depending on whether yr a player or a developer. It's yr job, Mr Green Jeans, to communicate their perspective, but really - it's a little bit insulting to be told that something that comes up so regularly in the ideas/questions threads isn't considered pressing, and that something that other bp games have featured from day one is beyond the abilities of an award-winning game like this one. Again, good try.

I'll leave this thread for now - if OP is satisfied w yr response, I won't post again. No doubt this topic will come up again soon enough. Despite my impatience about this one thing, I really do love this game and appreciate the work of all the devs and mods.

Cheers, peacherooo

Well unfortunately many players don't have active communication with their neighbors. That being said this thread is not the place to discuss why or why not we believe that this function should be available. That should be done in the Speakers Corner or Update/Idea section. As my response to the OP addresses the question as it stands now, there is not a way to put your game in vacation mode.

But just to clarify I never meant to infer that this wasn't an important issue. However more attention is paid to issues that do affect game play for everyone. This includes maintenance and server issues as well as implementation of other ideas and suggestions. We pass on all information that we see on the boards and as I said earlier the development also checks the forum for ideas and concerns.

That being said does the OP have any further questions?
