Where can I find information on these "bonus" slots/flag icon?

a flag icon of my flag appeared about 1 - 2 weeks ago just below the current event icon.

I have not had time to look up what it means as I had computer troubles. Can some one please direct me to the thread that explains the flag icon (and the "bonus" slot category/diamond/gold/silver).

It also appears I have lost some as time expired???
