First a disclaimer: I am NOT a geneticist, nor did I ever play one on TV
.My experience to date (mostly breeding white sheep) suggests a Mendelian distribution of offspring, taking each parent to be dominant-factored for the next best sheep and recessive for 2 steps better, with the occasional "sport" that is 3 steps better. Postings by others in Farm Talk validate this. Only time will tell if this carries into the higher levels, we're not really past browns at this stage. Even with skipping 1-2 steps 25% of the time, the investment (time, resources, possibly BBs) appears excessive, especially if this is the eventual model for all animals. For now it's an interesting diversion between events. However when the powerfeed is gone and my other animals are hungry the breeding will stop. One mod (pardon my memory, I cannot recall if it was Twisolo or cbroo) said he had summarized our concerns and passed them to Bigpoint. Given their past responsiveness I am hopefull some improvements will be implemented. |

Also, the amount of time it takes to make powerfeed makes the pheromones kind of useless. I don't want pheromones. Why speed up the breeding if I can't start it again until a full 24 hours later?

(The motel animation was changed slightly yesterday, I read on another forum. Some French and German players, too, had complained about it.) (update: I think we aren't allowed to discuss concerns about the animation now, I posted, rather, to say there was still a need to express concerns about the new breeding system here and, I suppose, in updates and ideas) I don't see this as possibly involving BB s, I see it as almost certainly involving them. In the past, some players have said, in response to criticism of the game's money-grabbing tendencies, that it is still a free game and that they have been able to get the top items without ever buying BBs. It will be a little difficult to argue that now....

I appreciate all the hard work that has gone into making the breeding feature but I wish it was only 1 powerfeed per motel.
Is there any point in having pheremones if you have to wait at least 24 hours to breed another sheep. For those of us who don't want to buy power feed this is going to a frustratingly long experience. ![]() Well done Mods your input is appreciated. ![]() |

The coloured sheep idea is great but there are a few tweaks that would make it even better.
1. Have a separate mill for producing only powerfeed/supergrow. That would leave the current mill free for making animal feed. 2. Instead of having coloured workshops to produce yet more wool (no demand) we could gain 'superpens' that produce the different coloured sheep. ie, the blackie pen would produce blackie sheep and so on ... That would kick start the market for the coloured sheep which is currently empty and likely to remain so for a long time. Lots of my neighbours have left since the sheep event started so something is clearly wrong. They say it's become boring. Pity, basically it's a fantastic game ... I think a breeding feature is marvelous, but I feel it needs a bit of tweaking. It's obviously not a feature that can actually be used much, since the requirement of 4 sheep, a lot of water, and the production of super-feed taking so long makes it something that people will only do occasionally - unless they spend a good deal of cash. I don't really think people are going to invest much real cash in this, the rewards don't seem to be worthwhile at present.
It's a great idea, with great potential, but to be genuinely engaging it will need to be made more accessible to a broader user-base. I love that we can produce super-feed now, and I will do it, but not for breeding. I will use whatever super-feed I make for other purposes, and I think we should still be able to win some on the prize wheel - it's not as though we would win it very often I got manure today, which is currently useless, although I expect it will probably be used in the production of super-grow soon.

...... I made lots of babies and guess what I have left over? One baldy .... I am now paralized to do anything further. I have one sheep ... you can't breed with one sheep. What now? This is the worst part of the game!
Also, the power feed is ridiculous. I will be in a wheelchair by the time it will be done. Last edited by firegirl2929 : 26.03.2011 at 13:05. |

My wife and I have been playing Farmerama for just over a year. We love this game. Between the two of us we spend about $100 a month for BB and the tractor feature. We have noticed that some of the "events" are becoming harder and harder to accomplish. We did not even receive a reindeer, because it would have taken way more BB to finish in time. Even though between the two of us we played it 24/7. We have not been able to obtain a kangaroo either. Now going over the new sheep pens, everyone is right. I appreciate the creativity and the people who created this game, but I feel that they are starting to get greedy. I pay too much to play each month and do not have all of the animals. Now this new feature is going to end up costing us more and probably will be changed or taken away before we reach our goal. I may start looking for a new game, which is sad, because we really enjoyed doing this together.

When I saw this new activity I was really excited. The colored sheep are adorable and I love the idea of the new fancy pens and shearing sheds. Then I took a closer look at what would be required. There is no way to actually accomplish much, given the excessive time for super feed, and the huge quantity of sheep required. Really too bad. Very disappointing. I think some of the changes, already outlined, would help.
