The Norselands Boss

Anyone killed the epic guardian of the Norselands yet? am curious how difficult this encounter is

im going waaaay tooo curious aboyt Norselands map and mobs and everything!

I've killed him twice alone on lv 30 ( normal ). To me it feels (un)challenglng like Khalys lv 30, with some extra surprises ;P. If you go alone with low essences it may be a standstill, but going in with high essence and/or important buffs, it's a walk in the park .
On difficult setting... hmm... how to explain it best... let's say I can kill Herald solo with just paying attention to health drop and his attack/aoe/meteor cycle ( yeah, I'm one of few that did 40+ runs without bugging him ), but reaching this Norseland boss yields almost empty health. You drink health potion, and staying alive for full 1 minute when it all starts is a daunting task for 1 player.
My friend did kill him on difficult, but even he, a DK powerhouse that can mow through everything in this game died couple of times :O ( he kills Herald with hitting and tanking him all the time with 0 deaths ).

This is him, on normal level:


Killed him 3rd time now, used only blue essence ( 100% ) for test and no buffs. I noticed that hardest thing in this fight is picking up health orbs, that are often blocked with collision boxes. Annoying and will cost you some health potions, but managable.

being a lvl 30 DK myself I do have a question though

How "tanked" & Buff are you- I am still getting killed frequently running Torstand--- I am working on minimizing real $ purchases and doing the upgrades through crafting , drops and careful use of ander.

u guys are very epic then i never even managed to see it good enough and i instantly died from a weird ice lance that he casts....congratz though^^

Hi Rahhuu!
The thing isn't so important in how much money I've spent, and to comfort totally free to play players, I think here a difference in level takes it's roll. Whole Norseland is a joke in terms of difficulty for any level40 character. Final boss has it's trick in the sleeve, but on easy setting should be doable solo by any level 40 character ( I speak for DK's, ofc ). Still, free players may die in process, as fight alone has it's micro health management problem ( you have to be carefull on several points, but I wouldn't spoil anyone's fun hehe ), but in the end it isn't such a problem.

Torstand is hard because it swarms with "in your face" opponents, and having massive quantities of armor is very helpful. You just can't evade taking damage there, so cutting that damage by any mean available helps ( items with +armor bonus, +block rate/reduction, gems, upgrades ) more than doing damage.
I think that with my free 2 play DK on Heredur would be much much greater problem, as I played him ages ago when I still didn't have any clue about game, and got rid of some items I thought bad ( exceptional +armor replaced for +health - ouch! )... :S Now at level 27, it should be interesting to try it out, though.

It's almost same ranged spell as Khalys casts, only you get 5-6 in your face... and ONLY if you run fast close enough, othervise 5-6 more .
And again, me epic? Hahaha! No, I'm average DK that can get "spanked" in PvP literally by any decent player.

"Beast chick?" With a beard, and deep manly howling voice? Yeh, plausable... :P

EDIT: Oh, and yeah, For now he dropped legendary item every time! Although those are levels far below useful to lv40 at first sight, you may be surprised how upgrading bonuses on those go high .

I hit that guy in a party of 4 good lvl 29's, and we died instantly.

Thats actually a question I have.
If you were to upgrade lower level legendary items, do they equate to current level 40ish ones?
