my chat not working

my chat not working i dont know why ...
it says:
system : that the chat server is not available
system : you are alone in this chat room
system: your ip address is banned

how i can fix it ?

I know there is a serious problem with the in game chat system, so just wait for the team to repair it nothing more the players can do and complaing about it is useless, im sure the Drak team already know about this problem

The more recent posts on this are closed, with messages saying to post in existing threads. As I'm seeing individual small threads going back a year, and mentioning the problem being a year and a half old problem then and no official threads, I'm not sure what is expected.
I for once have some time to spend on the game, and changing areas doesn't work to fix it, logging out and back in doesn't work, the only chat that is there is system, and even it is unresponsive. When chat is working halfway, and I type something into system, it tells me I am alone in the chat or something similar.

If this is a 2.5+ year old problem, that since then has had a full replacement in the works, how is the replacement not done?

Referring to the patch notes page isn't helping either, as it won't be posted there until it's fixed, and it's apparently already taken this long and not been fixed.

Obviously it doesnt, you cant develop a single chat fr over a year. There has been developed whole mmorpg games in 1 year period. It is clear that chat isnt the very highest but instead its worked on minute basis.

Actually, the chat system that was in place worked fine (for the most part) until March. No one anticipated the huge number of people who would be attracted to DSO while it was in beta. That overwhelmed the system, and that's good because it showed the developers the need for a revision. They worked on revising it for over a month, but nothing worked, due to the high volume usage. In May it was decided to leave the old system in place for now and totally build a new one. Since a Java-based chat for this number of people had never been attempted, what DSO is doing is ground-breaking and very time consuming.

This is not the first time this has been stated. Do you feel that inundating the developers with repeated posts like this is helpful? Actually, they have to take the time to read them, and thus there is less time to develop the new program. Rather than being helpful, these repeated negative comments are delaying the system.

So you are saying that you, as the one who read this are one of the developers? or every developer has to read every post? I'd not have even brought it up except that all day today, chat has been completely broken, and it's beyond difficult to get a team to go fight herald without saying something in chat, when he's 5 levels deep from the nearest city, and there are many other places people will be going for other missions.

@Dward-Are the Devs developing something new like a bubble chat system? It feels old facing and chatting with the system box. Or are they developing something like sign-boards like what hobos usually do? In that way, we could advertise our Ideas and Quests without spamming the chat box like example LFP>blah blah, need 1 more member, its kinda annoying.

That would indeed be interesting. All us volunteer moderators can do is pass on such suggestions, and I do, and will.
