The game will allow me to play for two or three clicks - it responds fully then it stops - freezes and I have to reload the game fully to have another two or three mouse clicks then it freezes again.
The freeze could mean that nothing responds - the barrels / chesters dont open and the character doesn't chagne locations, I can be being attacked and the character wont cast a spell / attack the monsters. This problem recures and is active with Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome. I have cleared my cache, temporary file, reset the router and have the most up to date Java version - any ideas or suggestion to help me play continulously would be much appreciated! |

Sounds like there might be more than one problem, so it's best to do a full review of things.
First be sure your computer is up to DSO gameplay specifications. Check Here. Sometimes files can become corrupt and get in the way of valuable game time. One way to address this is to clear out the old DSO browser download by emptying the DSO Client Folder. You can find the folder in... User > AppData > Local > Temp> DSOClient or... Start > Run/Search > write "%temp%" and press "ok" or "enter"> DSOClient folder opens It is also good if you use Windows Disk Cleanup. You can find the cleanup from your windows menu. Click 'Accessories,' then 'System Tools'. This will delete all temporary files from your system. Afterwards, reboot and try again. You may also need to update your device drivers (audio, graphics, Java, Direc3D, etc.). To clear Java, visit this site: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml Please let us know how things turn out. |

Update for you - none of that worked at home unfortunatley.
However - whilst over at my friends I tried on the same laptop as I use at home, and it worked flawlessley - the computer itself is running fine. Is there an issue with my router at all? It does let me play WoW / Stream without any problems - but if its a firewall issue then I have no idea on how to fix it - any help ? |

There have been reports of firewall interference with DSO. The best way to test this is to turn all your firewalls off before playing the game. Be sure to reboot the computer after playing to get those protection programs operating again.
Having exhausted the ideas presented above, it is now time for a DSO technician to provide some advice. Please submit a Support Ticket. Be sure to state 1) what the problem is (exactly), and 2) what you have already tried. The technicians may ask additional questions to pinpoint the problem (by e-mail). I wish there was more we could do on the boards to assist you. As we want you to get professional advice from the Support Team, I will now close this thread to prevent spam. Please come back on when all is resolved and let us know that things have been corrected and you are once again enjoying DSO. |
