Going back to do a quest I passed (currently lower than my level) I find its still pretty tough going. So I die a couple times. 40 andermant a pop so I don't have to make my way back and do all the progress over again (even though the payout for the quest is just 56 andermant).

Not really that bad...until I'm fighting the boss and "connection lost"....couple seconds later and Its reconnected itself and I'm dead....

120 andermant just to complete a quest worth less than half that? I'm thinking no. Especially when I had no way of controlling the last death that would have cost me to continue.

I stepped away from this game for a couple months to see how things have changed. There are some definite improvements. But the cost in 'cash cow' game currency if you need to ressurect a few times still seems a tad much. Perhaps if there was a diminishing cost in andermant if you need to rez in the same dungeon over and over (with a bottom limit, of course) it might make some of those deaths feel a little less painful.

Other than the need to spend andermant even when the death comes from a connection issue, I'm rather surprised that english still seems to be the minority language on the North American servers.

I know its an international game, but it feels odd to feel like the lingual minority due to not speaking Spanish or Portugese. I was under the impression that most BP games were similar chat-wise (using BSGO as my example), where language use in open chat was based on where the server was located along with what language you chose on the front page. Will Drakensang eventually change to this format? I would look forward to putting time into a game where I can communicate with others in-game.

Thats it for my criticisms and observations. I'll check the game out again in a couple more months and see if the communication & connection issues still leave me wanting.

I have to admit that while many games don't offer an option to re-spawn at the same location, it would be nice if the option were a bit cheaper. For the most part I think they've done well with the game economy, but if they target volume in some cases they will do better. We've all had boss fights in groups that we knew we just had to re-spawn on location. There are other times when we've all thought, "Eh, for 120? I'm just going to bed." If they dropped the area re-spawn to something like 10 and the exact location to 50, I bet more people would use it more often. "Spending" more in the end.

I'm actually surprised at how many Spanish-based players there are (linguistically). My experience is that far east Asia is more common. In any case, in most games I've played, any player is allowed to play on any server regardless of language. Which I don't mind at all - I just wish I could understand them when we're grouping.

Hi everybody! Yes, I do support you and keep in mind is not only me who wants to support you! The idea 10-50 looks much, much more preferable and useful in any way! 40-120 at present is too way too much! Concider and all other so many and so expensive bugs, problems, issues coming and existing in the game and from the game and for which nobody compensates you, the situations is ....! Noting more to add even though I have what to!!! All Thumbs up for Supporting you! Thank you for the time and Good Luck!

it may be far to much work to do (or may be not, I don't Know)
What about an auto translation feature, eg you set the chat to translate in to the language you have chosen

A translation program built in to the game probably would take a bit of work. To avoid making it get too big they might have to limit it - translating words literally and ignoring language syntax. However, I don't really think the programming itself would be difficult. It's the fact that the program would have to have a mini-database that it would need to access. Then there's the problem of having the translations done so they can enter it in the database in the first place.

In the end, I think something like this is possible without making the game to large. I also think that having it "built-in" probably wouldn't slow things down too much (although some users would experience additional lag). The real issue here is that it would be time consuming so that they could not make it a priority.

It certainly would make the program unique if they chose to add the feature at a later time.

EDIT: There's another thread on that topic.

Maewyn144,

Tut tut - there certainly is another thread on translation.

Haven't posted there but it wouldn't work. It would require all words to be spelt correctly and in grammatical and language context. I don't even do that on the forum - I read some of my posts afterwards and am shocked by bad grammar - and, then, there is the texting generation who can't spell (CONTROVERSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), you know what I mean.

PS It would also create a lag on what is, at the moment, an awful chat system.

PPS Jovaire - It is a lot to regen in the same spot but, don't forget, you are back to full Health and Concentration/Mana but the enemy isn't. Most of the time you wont choose to do it but to finish a difficult quest may mean it's worth it.
