Essence on attack skills

i would like to have an equip essence on attack skills, for example ragefull swing combat essence, Destruct on smash so they are not wasted.

It's a good idea to keep from wasting essence, but how would it work? would there have to be an individual slot for each skill? or would you jsut choose one skill? I don't understand how this would work in-game.

This has been suggested before, specifically tying the type of essence to a hot-key or an on-screen icon. It is on the list of things that the developers may eventually consider.
