Comments on NYX and new landing page

Greetings Space Pilots,

We have rolled out a new landing page and with that new landing page we will also roll out a new … well … let’s say … character for DarkOrbit.


Her name is NYX and you will be seeing a lot more of her in the very near future.

Two thoughts:

1) Very sexist, lol. I wonder what the female players think of the new front page.

2) Putting resources into creating and implementing a new front page for DO is somewhat equivalent to re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

It does confuse me why people make such big deals over DO changing aspects like this, people were crying when the admins got a new ship too, its not like the time spent making that would have been used to give all the players 100mil uridium or something.
In context of everything its very little.

Also don't thing you understand the concept of sexism, its not suggesting that one gender is better than the other, pretty sure no one would complain if they had a strong male figure there instead ...

I dont think its sexist.. I think its stupid to make a front page like that. She has nothing to do with the game.

And flying bases? No, I think there should be images of some fun PvP gameplay. Up to date images, that portray what actually happens. Maybe throw some bonus boxes on there.

Why have D.O. changed the log-in page?

It is very slow to respond (matches the rest of the game ) - I have auto-fill enabled - It takes ages to select and fill in the username field, all too often it will submit the username without the user entering their password.
This has happened to me on numerous occasions, then having to go through the hassle of attempting the whole process again.

Perhaps having the log-in button in a different place will help?

I have also had reports from people (who seldom play, but log-in to get their bonuses) claiming that it is difficult to find the Username and Password boxes. I have to concur with them that these boxes are in a silly place; the logical place being where the sign-up boxes now are.

I do not see what was wrong with the original page; (i.e the one before the last one), so here are a few suggestions to improve the performance of the log-in page:

- Reposition the Username and Password boxes to the centre of the log-in screen.

- Have a seperate registration page; the integral log-in/ registration page is too cluttered.

- Make sure that there is a seperate log-in button well away from the Username/ Password boxes.

I have a question, Why Cant You Guys Ever Appreciate ANYTHING Darkorbit / Bigpoint does to try and give its game a little more, umph, like the new login page, I think its cool and creative, better then what it was. Appreciate it people, dont just harass.

i like it, its not the first time BP/DO changed the landing page, and i like variety. took me a min to figure out where i was supposed to log in lol.
