It is completely pointless, why add something that dont give you nothing in return? If you ask me, i don't D.O should have added it in the first place.
just ignore it :P each time they keep bringing new junk in game, mayb some day they will giv us something worthwhile
What I do like about it, is that I can track how many boxes I've collected, and how much uri I've collected (now I know which map pays out more per box (ie: uri+GG spins).
I guess it's nice for personal goals (and showing off???)
However, you start the game with "Achievements," which actually gives you STUFF. Now we have MORE Achievements, but they give you...well...nothing but bragging rights, to none other than the people that you decide to give it to, if which is no one, is just another piece of paper.
Advice to developers, (takes me back to watching Grandmas Boy) don't you think the initial achievements sound a lot like the new achievements, just without the goodies? Do you think you could call it something else, or maybe mirror it with the other achievement program so that when we destroy the Century Falcon we get something other than a paper weight? This isn't the Espys here... or how about when we get the "Lightning Raid" using the "Lightning Attack Tech?" (Whats that? it's not called that in game, not sure why it would be called that in achievements...)
Anyhow, that's my 2 and a half cents...Hopefully someone can run with it and make something of it, other than an empty handed quest menu taking up space on a server somewhere!

Ho Hum. (In case you are not a native English speaker, that means I'm bored by the new Achievement system). It's just like the quest system, only no rewards, and flashier medals.
At first I was intrigued by it (the neat medals coming off my starship). Then when I realized there was no reward, it was more annoying.
At some point, DarkOrbit will realize that they have 2 User Interfaces that do almost exactly the same thing, and will rationalize (remove) one of them. They probably should clean up the UI. It's getting bloated.
They think I want to "share" my achievements with other players? really?
Just to throw my half sense in, I, like almost all others, feel the achievement thingy was/is a total waste of time. DO FIX YOUR PROBLEMS, then you can worry about adding new things to the games. You say you have developers and maintenance and admin people, well good, put all those capable into repair of the many fixes needed. Then they can go back to their original jobs. To put it blunt, make what you have work before throwing in more problems.. to summarize: I don't care for the achievements..so what if you achieve this or that. there are many ways you can tell if a person has done something. Get rid of achievements and FIX YOUR PROBLEMS.. nuff said.

I like this a LOT. Finally, BP has placed something new in that does not aid WW's in hitting 200k a shot (even if it does nothing.) Just wait; I can guarantee you, SOMETHING will happen with this system.
I actually like and dislike the system equally. I enjoy seeing how much progress i have made in the game. It also gives me goals to reach. They shouldn't be called achievements as you get a small achievements menu when you start. Call them GOALS. I dislike how I receive no reward whatsoever, and am very displeased by how DO expects for us to just, "brag" about them. 1. NOBODY CARES about them. 2. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME to share them. 3. They hold NO VALUE whatsoever, so why care to even bother about looking at it. Pilot Bio is full of glitches as it is, and with that, I can't add people to become my "Friend" so I can see their "Achievements". I agree with aforementioned posts in saying that DarkOrbit needs to fix its problems first. I don't like how whenever I kill something, my ship doesn't turn until I shoot on something else. I don't like how in X-7 I just stop shooting Kristillins randomly. I don't like how I am unable to sell this new Pallidium resource anywhere other than 5-2, and I have no interest in dying more than once to do so. I don't like how I am being killed by players hitting over 200k in damage when that amount of damage is impossible. I don't like how Invasion Gates are becoming worse with glitches and other various problems, and how BigPoint goes off and creates more events. I don't like how Support gives the same old answers to every question asked even if they have been answered more than once. The list of problems can go on and on. I hate how the achievements also do not conform to ones I have already theoretically earned, such as the Earn So much Experience Points. Why would a player, who already has earned over 1,000,000,000 Experience Points want to earn it all over again? Does DarkOrbit even have Level 25 Players??? The "Achievement" system needs revision, but not until DarkOrbit itself has been fixed first.
EDIT: In addition, I HATE how when I change my name in-game, my FORUM NAME DOESN'T CHANGE ALONG WITH IT.

Its a good idea, but i want acknowledgement for acheivments i have already completed. Im sure that somewhere they have a log of everything you have ever done, so they need to update the achievements with those logs. Otherwise, i think its actually a good idea. Doesn't give you anything, but what the heck.
But i do want the ones i've already completed.

Well.. the way I understood this.. was this new Achievements thing would give you something to show others of how well you have been doing in the game.. but how come we cant see this in the NEW pilot BIO..I can see friends equipment..there drones.. there special items..ship type currently being used.. but NO achievements is this something to be added to the shared BIO pages? Well, I believe D.O. will sort out the problems with this system. Pirate Map was glitchy, but they fixed that, and we LOVE it. GGG was glitchy, but they fixed that as well, and we LOVE it. Trust me. I've been here a while; they fix their problems.
