old computer w/ darkorbit

i have an old computer sitting in my garage and was wondering if it could play darkorbit and see if it is worth the trouble to get it up and running, here are the specs:

amd duron 1005mhz
512mb ram
s3 virge video card
56k internet
30gb 2400rpm harddrive
windows 1998

xp won't install on the harddrive for some reason and i will never install windows ME(2000) since it crashes so much, i got it up and running now though

a clan member as only just ugraded from win 98 so it will b fine as they had no probs with it

Well you could try it I suppose but im not sure it will run on win98 and the processor speed is borderline too, but you might be lucky

I was more horrified by the 56k modem connection ! Do people still use them for internet access ?

If you can even run DO, the only fps you'll get is
FPS < or = to 1.

I'm pretty confident in this prediction.

Hi there,

That is a lower spec. PC - having 56k Internet and 512mb of RAM plus the 1Ghz processor...I would highly doubt that you would get Dark Orbit running smoothly, or anything at that matter
However I would imagine it would be able to at least load up the backpage, maybe even play it at a few FPS... - fingers crossed for you
