I just started the game yesterday and spent hours mustering up credits, finally was able to buy the 100,000 credits ship and 4 of the 40,000 lasers, an 8000 engine and some more stuff really not worth mentioning. I was really really happy and went to X-1 and started collecting boxes and killing ships. Then without warning 2 opposing faction ships appeared, i checked the ships out and they were all elite ships with elite stuff and so i high tailed my butt out of there and made it to the sell station, the enemy ships stayed on radar for quite a while and finally when it was clear i left the station and started to collect more credits and stuff, then an enemy ship logged on right infront of me and killed me in less then 10 seconds. I didn't honestly care too much at the time because I thought I had 500 uri but i was wrong, i only had a little over 200, so then i couldn't repair my ship! 100,000 credits DOWN the drain, i then realized maybe i could use the exchange option to exchange some credits i have for uri so i can get back the ship! I was excited and went to exchange and realized i exchanted Uri for Credits, not vise versa, i have no way of getting that ship back unless i ..
a) gather up about 12.99 to get the 33,000 and purchase the uri and repair
b) spend hours drooling at my computer bored out of my mind just killing and killing
c) IDK
or.. i could take the easy way out and quit and go back to games that I've been addicted to for a while such as World of Warcraft or Galaxy Online, what do you think?
Dont have to quit, this game brings lots of fun. Just join a clan. I would also purchase a small amount of uri to help spurt your growth in the game.
There are also ways of communicating making the game fun, such as:
ALl i can say is dont quit the game. If it werent for the awesome people that i have met on teamspeak and gsc, i would have, so as Cell phone buisnesses say, you need to get connected.

If you're going to buy a Nostromo, I would reccomend that you make sure you always have an extra 100,000 credits on hand in case you get popped - then just rebuy the ship. You should never waste uri repairing a ship that can be bought with credits, because that 500 uri is far more valuable than the 100,000 credits the ship cost you.

Don't use uri to repair a credit ship just buy another one of = value or less. Never Never use uri to repair unless you have an elite ship. Then make sure you always keep 500 uri on hand just in case. I have been playing for a long time and have not spent a dime. and i am almost full elite goli, just need 2 more iris. You have the right idea collect bonus boxes and shoot npc. Just stay with for a little longer you might just get hooked on this game. Also go to FAQ and read the DO bible it helps alot.
Dont give up m8 we all went through the exact same thing, try and raise 50k credits and join a good clan, for example the clan that im in (HÅLØ-HERØES) refund the joining fee, offer protection and help to build yourself up. We also have regular paydays were the new starts get a whack of credits to help them on their way.
Hey careful, Bigpoint terms of use states clearly:
"You are NOT allowed to advertise other products or games with the same nature as Bigpoint." But hey, stick around. You can play a little at a time and build up a nice acount. Never mind being blown out and lose alot, it happens ALL the time. I bet by the time YOU'RE invading other factions home map, you'll regret this post, but you won't get there to that level of fun by expecting not to be blown up and lose a bunch of hard work. Every player has has the same question as you, but if you keep at it, well... you get the point.
