Lol no this isn't your guide to become a fairy or find the leprachauns gold, this is simple a guide to the galaxy gates. Lately, infact ALOT i see people requesting their gate to be refunded because of lag, and let me tell you something, I was one of them. Ok so here we go. When your getting ready to do your gate you need to do the following steps:

1. Clear your cache and all temporary files. This is to help preven the ever dreaded lag. That is definately bad for the galaxy gates.
2. Don't drink much before the gate unless your on a wave that you can get up and move like devos or big sibs. ( this is to prevent a mid galaxy gate crisis) lolz
3. If you have children, maybe tuck them down to sleep or see if the hubby or wife will do it??That is depending on who is playing the game.
4. Make sure that you have your flash player optimized if you have not already. Go to a neutral zone and right click on the game screen.. Go to settings...The first window that should open should say the amount of storage that darkorbit can put on your computer. This number should be infinite. The enabled hardware acceleratin box should be checked as well
5. Turn of all of the sound effects on the game. IF you dont think this does anything in the game, go into a big battle with sound effects on and then turn them off and watch your fps skyrocket.!!
6. If your on a wirless router, reset it and the actual cable router.
7. Always always make sure that you have the right configurations set up for what your going to be doing. You dont want to jump into lilttle kris with a standard battle config because you thought you were doing devos.
8. If you dont have drones off, turn them off, as well as virus scans that may run automatically during that time period. Its happened to me and i almsot died because of it.
9. Dont worry about it, take your time and try and stay comfortable. When a person becomes uncomfortable they lose interest, and focus.
10. Ok, THIS TIP IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!! I have discovered, wheither it be true or not that during the 2nd mintue of the hour of every hour most of the tiime, especially with excess of 1800 members, the game server lags at that very specific time.!!! If your in your gate at this time, you neeeeeeeeeeed to get away from the aliens and stay away from them.!! THis is how i completed my gate y, the hardest waves in just the past few days!! Take my word for it. please for your benefit..... AFter that i would suggest flying around until 6 minutes after the hour of which most of the lag dissipates and disapears. I have submitted a theory, the above one to the admins and its being passed to the coders.
11. Other than that, just pay attention to what your doing and most of ALL CLOSE OUT THE GAME CHAT!!!!!! Additionally, if you have gsc or some Teamspeak service, you may want to go into a different room if there is alot of people on and they are blabbin and talking. That stresses out your sound card and slows down your processing speed of the game.

My advise play during day time 'cause the lags at nights are worst and not always at the top of the hour. (US East Server)

i thought i knew it all , but no the sound off realy worked for me, i shu doen gsc and ts when in the gates but never thought of the game sounds.

lol nice guide mate, but guess what VRU hates you now, with all this information i can finally finish my gate B and slaughter countless VRU with the whites i get from it.. AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULT mwahahahahhhahah!
