Default I dissagree

I rather like the current system, although for new players to the game it is rough. I agree with some other posters that maybe the x-1 - x-4 maps should be safe but only until level 10-14. I believe that the vast power of many players just makes the new people quit as they cannot even leave their ports without getting insta popped by some guy hitting 200k with rsb.

Safe till level 14 might be plausible for the x-2 or x-3 maps. I would leave it up to the pilot to exit x-4 map considering the common player may be hard pressed to afford the equipment and upgrades needed to mount a proper if not a passive defense for the Uber FE that will surly be waiting like starved wolves just outside the safe zone.

Another thing to consider is the notion that some players just want to hunt.
They may not feel the call to battle and glory or perhaps they choose to curb those urges till their teeth are long and sharp enough to bite back.
These safe zones will offer them the time and resources needed to prepare or just hunt in a state of psudo-ease.

I think you are looking at this in a back to front way - safe zones -
look at it another way - when you try to jump into a map and you are not a high enough level to jump into it - you will get a message similar to:
"You need to be level ?? to jump into this map"

So why not make it that ships above a certain level cannot go into some starter lower maps and the message:
"Your level is too high to enter this map"

Interesting, that is very close to my proposal but not quite. I propose no aggression between ANY pilots in any of the effected maps at all. Certainly the enemy ships may enter the maps, considering the non aggressive quests but popping any of the ships that are peacefully hunting will be a No No.

You are proposing that they restrict certain maps to high level players, depending on which maps you propose this of, (x1-x4maps) assuming that we are still talking about those maps. I would like to see those substituted with new maps as it would reduce the area of gaming for high level players.

Okay... so you ask for another 'Safe Zone' and in another say 6 months someone else says 'More Safe Zones', I agree with roost on this one, 'a Charter For Cheats', not only that how the hell is this game supposed to be a risk in the deep dark depths of space, if we have safe zones everywhere?

Simply NO!!! As all I am seeing here is a 'Pebble in the Pond' effect...

This idea has already been suggested before in many forms. In the future, please search the forum to see if your idea has already been suggested before you post it. This helps to prevent the forum from becoming cluttered with duplicate threads and allows the developers to more easily see which ideas are the most popular.

Here are the links to the older threads: Pirate Maps and NPP (Noobs Protection Plan) Although this second thread is not exactly what you are proposing and is closed and unavailable for comment, I think the reasons stated in that thread against the suggestion are valid reasons against this idea as well. There are quests that would be impossible to complete should we extend the safety zone as you are suggesting.

Feel free to go to the Pirate Map thread and add your thoughts/suggestions.
