Hello!
My name is Kalona.
I've been playing Darkorbit since 2008 and joined the DO Team in 2011. Since then, my duties have taken up a large chunk of my actual playing time but I don't mind too much. I'm still involved with the part I like the best about this game: all of you.
More often than not, you will find me in The Update and Idea Pool although I manage to find my way all over the forums. A few personal things about me:
When I was a kid, my favorite game was Q*bert, followed closely by Pac-Man.
I never had the opportunity to see Star Wars(the original) in the movie theater due to the problem of being born 2 years too late. This saddens me greatly because that is one of my all time favorite movies right up there with other greats like The Last Starfighter, Enemy Mine, and Alien.
Philip K. Dick is one of my favorite authors.
When I'm not tormenting players on the forum or playing DO, I'm most likely outside gardening. Anyone who tries to say that gardening is for -ahem- pansies or old people, has obviously never seriously tried it. It takes strength to carry around bags of dirt and mulch and real courage to open a bag of composted manure that's been sitting in the sun for a couple of hours.
I currently reside in the Northeast of the United States, but am originally from the Southeast. I've been to the West but I didn't like it because people are grumpy over there. The Midwest was too... flat.
I like to stare at sparkly things until my eyes glaze over.
I have children who torment me every day which makes being a moderator seem like a piece of cake.
Oh, and apparently if you stick me inside of the Vending Machine of Doom, a "ban hammer wielding maniac with a pony on their shoulders" will come out.
To those of you out there who've already encountered me once or twice, please know that no matter how much we knock heads, I will always treat you fairly and be here to help you. I don't hold grudges. I just expect you to follow the rules, especially that golden one you learned about in school. I really don't like giving out infractions. However I don't like people using the forums as a platform for nefarious purposes even more.

It's unfortunate as I very much appreciate all of your helpful advice, even if I do have to delete half of what you post and edit the other half. 
I'm just teasing, of course. Sorta...
