I've been the head of a few clans in my time and after reading Prometheis2000's article, I decided to write my top tips (If they are the same as Prom's then that just makes them even more important!) ;)

1: Never attack your own company unless if you are attacked first or if you are at war.

2: Always try your hardest to avoid wars with clans in your company.

3: Make sure you don't (If you are planning on) give credits to new members unless if they stay for a certain period (A week or two is best but in serious cases, 30 days might do).

4: Try not to accept outlaws as they ruin your clans' reputation.

5: Help other players to get on their good side.

6: Get as many alliances as possible.

7: Give the right people the right roles and praise everyone for good work but do not scold them in an agressive way if they do anything bad.

8: If you see people leaving your clan, use the appropriate mediums to try to get them back. These include (but are not limited to) Clan Search, Whispering them, Lowering minimum levels, Going on hunts with possible members, Promising that they will become FE with your help and also non-DO methods such as Teamspeak, Skype or even Facebook and Twitter.

9: Be on at least once a day (Leader/Co-Leaders) and at least once or twice a week (Members).

10: Kick members if necessary.

11: Leaders, try to make sure you don't get chatbans!

12: Set up a good community in this Sub-forum.

13: Write a proper clan description.

Now a few tips that might help the members stay even more!

1: Put the tax low or high depending on how much Clan Pay you are willing to give.

2: Why not try a Clan lottery? Everyone picks a few numbers and if they are the ones that you wrote then they win a prize! (1-0 Creds, 2-1,500 Creds, 3-5,000 Creds, 4-20,000 Creds, 5-100,000 Creds, 6-Jackpot)

If you have any more ideas or think some aren't that useful or have been repeated in this thread then tell me!

Apart from that, have a Good day, Rookie Leaders and all!

I like what you posted and think you covered some great areas but disagree in two well 3 points. I have a couple of X-Outlaws that are now a major part of keeping my clan together. They were getting shot down by our own company every 5 minutes before i brought them in and got clan to help them work it off. Telling them about shutting off the show all boxes is best way to prevent Outlaws from getting this status. Also allies can be fickle, and choosing between which green tag you you defend and which you shoot makes you look like an untrustworthy ally. I try to NAP as many as possible and communicate with leaders of opposing clans to help forge a peaceful environment. I try to have a feel (good understanding) for the clan and clan figure heads that I choose to send green tag to. Also we have plenty of credits gathered at this point and helping a new player with 10 mill is a drop in the bucket. It goes along way to progress future Fe players. I just try to advise them on what to bid on or buy. If they don't listen, or leave clan...oh well now we know more about said player.
Thanks for posting some good info. I like your post.

YOu are right about a couple things. However wrong on a few.

Be selective on who you let join your clan. Players who beg or joina clan for credits are not the players you want in your clan.
Make your clan tax 0%. No point in making everyone in your clan get taxed twice. What they make they keep. This will keep credit beggars out of your clan as well. Never promise your clan members anything other than you will help as much as you can.

Never have an alliance with an enemy company clan.
Never have a multi-company clan.

Lastly, be patient with your clan members on activity. Most have a life outside of this game. If they aren't active for a week or so, send em a message find out what's happening. Then you can take action depending on the situation.

I am a clan leader of a clan that has been around for many years.

Also,You have explain the right thing,But still you have wrong on your explaination,"Never Allience with an enemy company clan" I suppose you wrong.

My clan was Mmo and have many many alience, even i got alience mostly from vru and eic,and its not a bad things,as long you can mke them trust in your clan, then you also can give your trust in them.

We got many possitive from them, when we have a mission in enemy map, they will help guard us from enemy,i think have allience with another clan company is the best thing you may ever decide(as long you can keep it).

one more thing i should suggest is,Always Talk good in chat and try to make new friend no matter they eic, mmo, vru.
