I'd say about half and half. I win and lose just as often. As they say, if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all :( You are one lucky dude.

I lose bids all the time because I do test bids or weak ones just in case I win, but when I want to win something I'll win 80 - 90% of the time (mainly because I always overbid)

I win a lot off the time , and haven't a scooby why , have won damage boosters recently on gb for silly amounts , and then lost the next hour , for a large bid ,

But saying that i don't try and outbid players i know and like when i see them on trade , irrespective off company ,

we are all in the game for fun , even through some people take ,there positions and rank so seriously , so why not let the enemy have damage and shield boosters . makes the fight more fun :)

Im finding that very hard to belive everyone has lost a bid in trade most of the time is 90% luck .

Like roost said you can put silly bids on things in trade i know ive won things for 1 creds but lost over 300 mill on certain things when they come out.

I bid all time cheap some times I win others nop but when need something I dont lost I got the power to do bids to win :p

If i place a serious bid, its very rare i loose, id rather bid that bit more to ensure i win rather than risking and loosing alot of creds, however i place stupid bids all the time just incase i win (sometimes it works, won a goli for 21 creds! :eek:)

Also, i have secret to succesful bids :D

cammy is ya secret that you change ya name regular durin the hour you have bidded? so as to try fool peeps into thinkin that particular item you are bidding on is to pricey for others to bid?(if so loads o plyrs on uk server where doing that trick years ago:D

I don't lose because I bid as high as possible, if I usually bid 20mil for something, then someone tells me they lost the same thing for 30 mil, I start bidding 40 mil and so on.

The reason I think you can sometimes win for nothing then lose next hour for more is this, you do a cheeky bid, you're a known player so no one overbids, then when you place a bid next hour the others who were going to bid lots the previous hour think "stuff it" and drop their big bid anyway and beat you. They probably think you spent all your creds on the first bid and the second one is cheeky...which often is true.
Or, you're not well known and you place a one cred bid, then win. Those who want to bid see your name again next hour and realise you made a cheeky bid first time and outbid you with a cheeky bid. So its best to not bid 2 hours in a row unless like me, you always bid more than enough.

Then there's just plain luck, I've been prepared to bid massive amounts then forget to go on trade before the hours up, or I do and a company member has the bid, anyone else would have been overbid...so much is luck and fortunate timing. It's less to do with what you think as the "winning" bidder and more to do with what all the others watching trade are thinking.

What are good bids? How do you know how much is likely to win...? i Bid 10 million on a LF3 and lose, but bid 2 mil on avenger and win.. lol How do you know how much you should bid?

if i want to win a bid i win it, i have enough credits to win anything but usally i bid on things with low credits to get them for cheap but the reason that most of the players doesnt like me the reason that i pop them and annoy them a lot, they try to overbid me on trade some of the fail some of them succeed but in the end i always get what i want if i want it a lot :)

dude you need to understand the basic principal of supply and demand
lf3s are in high demand so u have to bid high to get them

avenger disning is in low demand so the price will be low

Um well i don't win 100% of the time but i win probably about 60% of the time (when i actually want to bid not when i'm making my credits an even number) I do not over bid at all! in fact i don't remember a time recently bidding over 10 mil... um i have won all of my iris all less than 5 mil, 6 of them for less than 3... if you wanna know my secrets just ask i'm willing to share they are pretty obvious but maybe you don't notice them like i said just ask :p

Maybe my luck is not like you. I won bid only for a few things. I has lost bid with 150million credit on iris. That's the stupid bid for me.:(

For me i cant tell u my bidding strategies. Well, anyway, i used to have times when i won enforcer, smartbomb, ISH for 1 credit each, and B02 for 35mil (after invasion gate)

Creds dont mean much to me so if I want something badly I will bid very big. When I bid serious its rare I am outbid. On the same note I avoid bidding on other players who I know bid big. Outbidding these guys just starts an ego trip of outbidding each other which helps neither player. On serious bids I win 99% of the time. Of course I throw the odd cheeky bid in too but not so often and these loose more often than win.

Like thumper i bid to win, if i want an item badly enough, i ask about and see what most ppl say an item goes for then just bid double.
