is there a way for a player to check their own ban records or must the inquiry be made here only?

There is not a way for players to check their bans. If you have a ban the best is to post your user id in here and an SMOD will try and post as much information to you without violating the rules of forums. If there is more information that you wish with regards to the ban then you will be directed to support where they can provide you with a quote of you chat logs. If there is nothing further then we will close.
