A new shield colour

Ok im happy to say im rather bored of seeing a blue design(shield) all the time... how about a change of scenery like a green bubble or pink etc...

Maybe a new trail colour too that's boring me as-well.

now I don't know how you'll sell these new colours but here is a little way you could...

ordinary colours could be credits so your ordinary pink and green and black and red etc etc etc......
(Now heres a way to make a bit of cash BP take note:p)
sell a couple of glossy colours so a shiney red for example or a multi coloured design so like pink black and red or green blue and white etc

each colour which is elite should cost about 50u and maybe a multi coloured could cost 150u and obviously the ordinary colours would have to cost 500 credits

Now you'll have to excuse me and my bad English i wasnt exactly the best at it but try to understand what i am saying, we need to be able to fully customize our ship and this has got to be the first step to doing so.

give the public a chance to really customize their ship :D:D:D


and please don't close this admins i would really like to get a second opinion on this :)

however if you feel it needs to be closed because this has been already been mentioned then do so I don't feel like arguing...:rolleyes:

Because that would probably make the game lagg alot more, and what is needed to work on right now, is to either fix all lagg, or make a REAL downloadable client made with REAL programming language.......

Heard botters/autolockers use some kind of programs made in C++ and stuff like that, why wouldn't DO be able to make one downloadable? Know that its easy to use in a browser, and new people are able to easy sign up and start playing, but a side-client would probably not lagg as much as "flash".

Anyways, reason I wouldn't want this idea to be published, is cause of the "lagg" it might cause. If DO wouldn't lagg as much as now, it could have been a nice idea.. :)

AND people wouldnt spend uri on a design witch has no effects.. Like 5% extra damage etc.

When I put money in this game, I make sure that I always do it on a mega, and I usually get about 70.000 uridium. I wouldn't spend that on a colored design, instead of pilot points...

well you cant blame a guy in trying to bring a little spark into the game. if no one is interested and Big Point has no interest may as well delete or close...

this isnt such a bad idea and if ppl wouldnt buy something with no effect then put effect lets say green shield absorbs 5% dmg fired at u purple gives u 5% more shield and so... but as i was saying this dude has some good ideas.:)

Bigpoint is starting to look like a company run by a 2 year old with a 20 year old computer in a basement. It's been, what 5 months, and they still haven't fixed the connection and lag glitches. That should take them no more than a week or 2 even with their affinity to weekend breaks. I say they focus on the major issues (connection, glitches, lag, gameplay) then turn their attention to things like this

if they make dark orbit a downloadable game then that will stop most of the game lag but conection lag will be up to you. Its a simple matter with a simple solution, Look at pirate galaxy has no lag, its a big game, any lag that is made would either be by the game and that would last a matter of seconds or it would be your conection, however yes it would add a little more colour and thats why i sudjested this idea.

You can't blame the people who are trying to get their opinions across either. Make an idea on this thread and you are asking for people to say what they think.

My opinion is that there are now plenty of designs with pretty colours :rolleyes: and I think an update like this could cause more harm than good, no offence bigpoint, but I have seen my fair share of new stuff being implemented and causing a hell of a lot of lag and problems.

I know this is about shield colour but you might as well just change the ship colour to make it more interesting.

Different colours for ships has been briefly suggested a lot of times, shields are just the same. If it causes no lag, then I would say fantastic idea but you know how it goes.

Not a bad idea to say, but as stated, it would only create more lag in the game. And i would just agree with the idea of a downloadable client. And the idea, well i would only avoid it coz i don't want anymore lags in my playing. Already coz of the lags, my in-game window lags like hell. :(

Going back to the "Bigpoint tech crew looking like 2 year olds" reference they'd probably need to take the game offline for a few weeks or even months to try to get it to be downloadable and work.

Why is it that every new idea thread ends up being hijacked into complaints about BP business practice and lag moans? I actually think this is a very good idea, I would love to be able to customise my shields, if not my whole ship! I think I would like the green bubble shield please :)
Also, the cost I think is too low - I know, i'm mad for saying it - but shouldn't this be a little harder to get than collecting like 10 boxes for 150 uri? everyone would have all colours as soon as they came out

Never said it wasnt a good idea. Just said other issues need to be fixed first. I actually support the idea itself. But until DO fixes the lag/connection they can't take on such a task without making the problem worse. Fix the problems and THEN bring out the shinies :D

Also, my computer is about 2 weeks old now, full updates and internet connection. Nothing to do with cache and internet as far as connection

well i agree with both of you, I'm one of the lucky ones who dont get lagg much and would love to see this into play however there are more important things that need to be sorted, for one this lag that was created by the new client. Then once thats sorted 20 more problems accure so... we as players can't win so the only thing we can do is put more ideas into there heads and hope they deal with the lagg and what not and if they dont they will sureley loose customers no doudt, But as longs as they put into prespective our ideas and i know some ones sudjested a outfit gate and thats now being tested on UK sever.

But what ever happens they try there best (i/we hope) and a small idea like this could change into a big idea forwared by bp but we shall see.
