OK, can you jump into a galaxy gate while getting shot in x-1 map?

Because last night, myself and few other vru were wrecking havoc in 2-1. I came across one of my colleagues being attacked by an eic goli, so I start on him. He is getting beaten and heads towards base....just as hes about to pop he disappears!!

Both of us saw this happen, the only thing I can think of is either he was cheating (don't ask me how) or he jumped into a gate.
I don't know exact position of gates in 2-1 but it looked roughly where one would be.

Personally, I didn't think this was possible (and rather cowardly of him/her) If its not possible, then how did he log out while we were shooting him.

I will also add, that I was experiencing no lag at the time and both of us shooting him saw exactly same thing.

Well, I'd say your deduction is correct as you can jump into galaxy gates whilst under attack.

k mate 1stly its not cowardly to use EVERY ability to escape avoid or get away from a ineven battle then you call it smart :)

the gates are located arround the base just outside about a 1second fly to get to them....this is a VERY good q as i wondered this aswell

Btw there still is 15 seconds worth of repair before the wave descends on you. So as long as you not on protegits you should be fine.

Even if you should die in the gate it's still better then leaving the kill to an enemy, well as long as it's not your last life. At least my personal view.
