Hi Dino
That is so because the gate between all X-1 and X-2 maps are a server bridge were you change on to a different game server.
This was originaly implemented so the Noobies dont have to load all 28 maps when they first get here.

Hi Dino
Do you get completly disconnected or does it just take a few moments before you are in the next map?

For me, every time going from 1-1 to 1-2 and back I get a message that I was disco'd, trying to reconnect to server, successfully reconnected, Hey, I'm in!
Unfortunately, you lose locks you had on enemy ships and I worry about the consequences of disconnecting if you're under fire...

Hi Canis
When you are in a jump you should be in the DarkOrbit nirvana where you get served a cold drink and no other ship can see you. In normal words you are not on the map;)
Regards Radovan8
Due to the server bridge when you have to connect to a different gameserver after the X-1 maps. The server will disconnect you from the X-1 server in order for you to connect to the other server for the X-2 maps. This is why you see Connection Broken and Establishing a connection, because the connection to X-1 server was broken to establish a connection to X-2 ;).
Hope that explains...everyone goes through it.

True, that explains it perfectly, however it used to be a seamless jump. Any server switching caused no delays. Lately, though, it's quite the nightmare.
Hi Radovan, i lost my connection always for 16 sec. , 3 times i lost my connection complitly and
1 times i came in but i was back in x-1 in middle of map. thx DINO

Hi Dino
I am sorry it took so long, but in the last few days the technical section has been very busy and I am only human too.
I will check with the coders on monday if there is anything we can do to optimize the servers bridge so the transfer gats shorter.;)
Regards Radovan8
hi radovan, thx and i will wait to a solution. have a nice weekend
hi radovan, at which monday will u check this with ur coders? Thx DINO

Hi Dino
I hope you dont mind I answer on a thursday:rolleyes: (Sorry)
Ok I just had another chat with the coders and the are going to try to implement a small fix for this. But since nobody here is having a problem jumping those gates ( and we are located in germany) it is kind of hard to figure out what the problem is.
In the meanwhile i would ask you to try this:
The following steps will minimize the problem, and have been confirmed by multiple users.
First of all - the workload of the Flash Player should be minimized:
1. Right-Click anywhere on the Dark Orbit Map --> Settings --> Set the memory capacity to MAXIMUM
2. It is essential that the newest FlashPlayer version is always installed, as this minimizes or even eliminates problems.
The newest version of Flash can be found here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&Lang=English&P5_Language=English
3. About the Flash-Player and early problems:
If there is "no" response by your Flash-Player or a delayed response, the following problems may occur:
- Loss of connection during the game
- Enemy is "out of range" - and cannot be attacked, although it may appear as if the enemy is close.
- You have been shot down, due to a problem with the portal jump
In addition, programs such as:
- Background services
- Up- / Downloads
- Messenger (MSN, ICQ, Trillian, Teamspeak, etc.)
- etc.
Can slow down the reaction time of the Flash-Player.
These are some causes as to why you may experience problems with Flash.
Should you still have problems - please download the following plugin, which has been kindly provided by a user:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0
Another cause of many problems (white pages, pages not loading completely, features that are not working) can be your Browsercache. Below, you will find a Step-by-step tutorial on how to empty your cache:
For the IE6 - please use the following steps:
Extras --> Internet options... --> Delete Cookies (Confirm with YES/OK), then delete offline files (make the corresponding mark) and confirm with OK.
For the IE7 - please use the following steps:
Extras --> Internet options... --> Delete... --> Delete All (make the corresponding mark) and confirm with YES.
For the Firefox - please use the following steps:
Extras --> Settings... --> Privacy (Settings) --> Cache --> Delete Cache and confirm.
--> Cookies -->Delete Cookies and confirm.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Close your browser and restart it.
This might solve the problem for you.

hi radovan, at first thx for ur answer.
yesterday we tested this problem with some friends and all have the same problem.
if we jump in/out from an enemy gate we are slowerer like the enemy. We are always
lost in gate between 14 and 18 sec.
To ur technical suggestion---> that i have done last week and i have no programs running
if iam hunting. Thx DINO
ok next year i come back in forum and look after this post. see u next year cu

i am annoyed already thinking about it
efikke, this bridge is ok. but i have following problem with this:
if i have a enemy in x-1 behind me and i will jump to x-2 is the enemie
always at first jumped. if iam in jumping the enemie is already shooting
oon me and i can nothing do for 2 -3 sec. and u know defikke what a elite goli

Hi Dino
But that has nothing to do with the server bridge itself that is a matter of connection speed. if you enemy has a fstaer connection hie flash client will have all the information it needs to let you spawn on the other side first.

hi radovan, if i make a pink to server, which value should i have for

Hi Dino
When I ping the US server I have about a average of 150ms.
that is not perfect and i am experienceing some trouble once in a while, but I am located in germany so that is normal.
Everything below that should be ok, but under 100ms is good.

hi radovan,
i have 22ms in trancert u must know and i have all updates and iam still waiting for answer. sincerly DINO

Hi Dino
Actualy your gate Jump problem should be fixed since the coders switched to dynamic map loading and every map gets now loaded for itself.
So you should not get caught in the jump anymore.

thx radovan, we will see it
