Attack broke off

Hi

while I was shooting at enemy ship suddenly the attack broke off. He was nearly dead not out of range (no message), middle of the map. This happened twice now ! Why ?
This is just a waste of ammo, why should I attack someone knowing that I can not finish the attack for no reason at all ! ? :confused::mad:

I had this happen yesterday too, didn't think much of it, just popped the CTRL key and started right back to firing again.

This also happens rarely (two or three times total) when fighting BKs, the attack will stop and I needed to restart firing. I got the feeling there was some sort of timer or the likes that kicked it off. It wasn't a matter of the graphics only failing; the BK/opponent was no longer taking damage.

Now that I see other people experiencing this I thought I'd mention it isn't completely isolated.

However, if it does happen, you can restart firing just fine.

This is just a guess in the dark, but since you haven´t bought ammo in ages and you probably attacked with X3 ammo. Is it possible that you ran out of one kind of ammo and the attack was broken of due to that?
As I said just a guess in the dark, if that is not the case please let me know.

This is just a guess in the dark, but since you haven´t bought ammo in ages and you probably attacked with X3 ammo. Is it possible that you ran out of one kind of ammo and the attack was broken of due to that?

NO ! Big NO ! After the attack broke off I had still over 12000 x3 ammo left ! Not only the attack broke off also the lock I had on the enemy and I didn`t click on anything else ! Regarding the buying.....I`m a collector ( check out my Uri )......! You will turn blind :p !

Ok as I said just a guess in the dark. Why not think of the easy things first?

the same thing has happened to me .while in pursuit of an opponent hell pull away ill see his drones but not his ship (on the edge of the game screen) and my lasers will stop firing. then hell stop ill catch up and ill have to reclick laser fire to get them to start firing again. i dont lose lock but my lasers stop fireing. thnx von

This might be because of different internet connection ( speed ). Sometimes you see the enemy right in front but in "real time" he is out of range. My case was different because my enemy wasn't flying at all.....we had a fight.....my attack broke off, lock gone....but he was still shooting at me ( so no out of range ).

But in general...sometimes some real strange things happen in this game !

2 days ago I had the case....attacked enemy, got his HP and shield low he changed configuration ( nothing wrong with that ), got his HP and shield low again and suddenly he`s got hp and shields again. I wonder how many configurations possibilities he`s got !

that has happend to me several times.my lasers will stop fireing in the middle of a chase.but i wont lose target lock.i thought it might be lag.but if it is something else could it be looked into. thnx von id#1946639

I haven´t heard from the coders about this problem yet, which might be related to the fact that it is probably very hard to reenact for them.

I just went over there and asked the coders about the problem but so far they have not found anything while looking into it.

There best guess also was that one of the ammo types was empty and had to be switched, but since we already ruled that out I still can not say what it was.

Might want to sit tight guys. Ive worked on a few things like this. Nothing major. Just base coding. However finding errors is hard. And fixing them is harder. Changing one this changes everything else.

So sit tight. It might take a wile.

Von, don't know if this is your problem. I have had had that problem when I run out of type 1 lasers or type 2 in the middle of combat. I still have plenty of lazers just not the selelction I was using. I don't lose lock but have to change selection.

Could this be a possibility?, The guy you were killing clicked on the edge of the mini map, put the screen down, and uptaded his speed with prom,that would of instantly made him go faster. Just a suggestion.

Im not sure if this thread is old. But I just had this issue. I was in 3-3. Saw a red and chased him to bottom right where he jumped. Chased across the top of 3-2 to top left. After a little gate hoping back and forth I chased him across the middle to top left. (Along the way I put from promi on) All of the sudden we get to the gate..maybe about half a second or two from the neutral zone start..he stops dead and seems to pick up a rock..and my firing stops..I do not lose the lock. I click crtl again and keep firing. And he jumps (He was not near death I was just chasing him off)
