2x, 3x ammo on red lasers

I shoot red lasers but if I buy 2x and 2x ammo will I hit any better if I use the upgraded ammo? Would I be better off buying it and saving it till I get blue and green lasers? Is it possible to shoot just blue or blue and red but no green?

You can just shoot blue if you have the full amount of lf3 in your ship...when you have this and use x3 you shoot green.
if you havent enought lf3 in your ship you shoot red, with every ammo!
you do more dmg, if you have a lot of lf3, but your dmg is tribbled...maybe just use x3 on battlemaps, jackpot battle, or PVP..:)

color of lasers has no effect on the damage done, its the other way around. if your SHIP is full of lf3's you will shoot blue on x1 ammo. the color is nothing big to worry about, just a visual aid.

I used the color as a reference only. In a ship with 15LF3 does the 1x have the same damage as in a ship with 15LF2. in otherwords, 1x is 1x is 1x
Naturally the same goes for other ammo

Can any ship be a elite if all the lasers are LF3?

Must one have drones to be Elite? Must u have 31 LF3 to be elite?
Ihave heard term 'full elite' explained as 31 LF3, 15on ship and 16 in drones, all 10x engine generators and all 80%elite shield generators.

What happens if a person chooses to have 1 LF2 and 30 LF# in one config and 31 in 2nd config. Shoots red and fool enemy and switches to 31 laser config to finish battle. Is that ship elite?

same with shield and engine gens. I know they can be intermixed to achieve a balance the player likes?

I assumed color was for reference only, and was an indication of ship gunnery strength.

Ok lF2 with normal ammo does 100 points damage, With X2 ammo that same shot does 200 damage, and X3 ammo does 300 damage

(15) lf2 normal damage is 1500.
(15) lf2 with X2 ammo 3000.
(15) lf2 with X3 ammo 4500.
