I just started playing yesterday and am enjoying the game, but I have a few questions.
First, is there any way to get cubits besides buying them and daily missions? I have done all that i can do with my ship/skills, and it seems at this rate its going to take ages to upgrade my ship. Second, how much should I upgrade my raider? Is it worth it to bother upgrading guns/armor much on it, if I dont plan on flying it for too long? Third(and relating to the last post) What ship should i get next? I know its a matter of preference, but should i bother getting a maurauder as an intermediate step to a line ship, or at least something bigger? And finally, approximately what ship/skills should you have before doing PvP? In my raider theres ships out there that look at me and I'm dead? what would you recommend minimum before starting to help in PvP? Edit* noticed just now that i got cubits for destroying enemy AI higher than novice. Thanks Ultimatnoob Last edited by Ultimatnoob : 24.02.2011 at 20:06. |

Second, yes--you will want to upgrade your raider, unless you intend to buy your way into a Line class ship with cash and learn to fly. You will want to upgrade your raider's weapons, hull, and engines and very likely upgrade to an advanced raider as you level up and can afford it. The raider is a fun little ship to fly even when you can afford bigger. Third, up to you--It will really depend upon your style of play. You will probably need to play a bit before you can make any real decision there. Finally, there is no minimum for pvp. This is a pvp game, and there really is no better training for pvp than pvp. At first you should stick with turret-based weapons. Skip the missiles until you become comfortable flying. Some people eschew missiles altogether, but they can be very powerful and useful when you get a feel for them. Level up you gunnery and piloting skills and armored combat. You will figure out the rest as you go along. You should have a smattering of the rest as well, but what you level up will depend upon how you want to outfit your ship, how you like to fly, and a host of other decisions. Biggest thing, don't stay out of pvp because you think you are too small or too new, join a squadron, get into the fight and have fun. You will die a lot at first, but you will level up, get some drops, and learn your ship and how to fly it.
