High level players farming low levels in n00b systems

Only high LVL players can help protecting lows, I guess.
Doing asteroid recon, see 2 strikes (LVL 8 and LVL 12) near, invite them. So, they are more or less sticking with me, not going more than 2000 units away from me. The point is- they are not bothering me really, I do my daily as planned and there is no problem to watch after them a bit if they need some help. Isn't that what we have squadrons for?

Maybe the ship shouldn't be damaged if you die in pvp from someone with 10+ levels than you and you don't shoot first.
It gets to the point where I can't repair my ship no more and upgrading it is out of the question.
I would pay money to speed up the upgrade of my ship, but not exclusively, I need to make part of the cubits needed to upgrade the ship myself, there is no point to play just to be able to repair that ship.

First, only repair with titanium.

Second, there's always 20,000 or so water in the protected systems. It just takes time to mine it since its in smaller roids. That's 4,000 cubits you can make in a couple of hours. Do that once a day and you can bank 64,000 cubits in a couple of weeks. And you'll be racking up XP, too.

Here's some help: Once your guns get to level 4 or so, head to the systems with advanced NPCs like 71Dun. Then farm the high level NPC strikes. When they pop, they give you Level 6-7 gear, including guns. With that gear, completing your missions and farming gets a whole lot easier.

Also, when they drop a Level 7 DRADIS buff, use it! Set your jump to the next system and keep hitting "M" when you're out mining in a hostile system. When you see a pvp coming at you, hit "J" and run away.
