Yes, that does suck. However it has been noted by the devs and will be stopping...sometime...maybe...possibly...might wait till people have stopped noticing

bit too late for that :P especially when many ppl have gone around using mining boosters on thargelia events... tons of escort players got a load of accuracy ammo stocked up by now i'll bet

not like we'd have expected anything better from BP xD

I'm wondering if they've taken note of the feedback about the new ammo and are waiting to bring in some more ammo thats more useful to the strikes before removing it.
Well i think it would be fair since the ammo for the strike now is junk. Get better results from white(gray) tips than with this new junk. Maybe they are actually reading the threads not sure but it sure isn't funny shooting spitballs single digit number hits on an escort with lvl 15 guns and they have time to jump even in threat with a 3200 hp start. I think before the new ammo was introduced it was pretty balanced have no idea why this was introduced except for lines escorts were a good balance.

It seems that the game is favouring any build that removes the need for player input, I basicaly come up against the same three builds most of the time -DC Line ships that can undo all the damage you've done in a click of a button and alarmingly accurate cannons, liches (and presumably halberds if your a cylon) built to fly fast in a straight line with long range guns, usualy with an engine ew, and on the odd occasion I do encounter a strike, it's almost guaranteed to have engine ew, allowing players to drag the opposition down to a nice manageable level in lieu of working out how to dogfight (admittedly skilled players can give these plonkers a nasty suprise by canceling it out with an aurora, or forcing them to use up two slots once you've got your firewall skill up to ten, it's still pretty weak and munchkinesque though).
It seems most players spend the majority of keystrokes telling everyone how great they are in chat, or screaming invectives at anyone who finds themselves resorting to the nuclear option.
I appreciate that for an MMO to have a decent player base you need to have soft options for the less experienced/skilled gamers, but imaginative and skilled play must still have an intrinsic value, or you simply aren't playing a game any more, merely a bidding war for the chance to get your ego fluffed.
The NPCs are more interesting than most player characters these days. I'm past the point of aggravation, and am now bemused by how consistently content most players are with hollow victories they essentialy had no hand in. Truth be told, this trend isn't unique to BSGO, but seems to be in all games. Gamers are getting pushed out in favour of casual, lazy types who's need to win vastly outweighs their ability to play. Losing to a better player really isnt all that bad, arbitrarily having your fun ruined by poor balance and a total lack of sportsmanship (remember that phrase? Used to mean a lot in games in general) is. I hear the contract for BGSO comes up 2013, maybe someone else will get a chance to turn this game around. Not holding my breath though.

I think a lot of this comes down to peoples gaming mentality in the west.

As an example I was previoulsy playing an open world PvP MMO developed in Korea and ported over for the west.

I played on the Korean servers as well as the western servers and it was really like playing 2 different games.

The game was based on group PvP, in the Korean version if your group came across a solo player or a smaller group people would actually sit out of the fight to make it more fair, then aftewards thank them for a decent fight.

On western servers it didn't matter if the group outnumbered you with an alliance so 12-1 they would just steam roll you without any thought then taunt you and call you a noob etc afterwards in chat.

The western version also had to have a lot more restrictions for lowbie areas because high levels were constantly coming and and ganking them while they were trying to level up.

What i'm getting at is often its not the game thats messed up its the fact that when you give people an open sandbox to play in it's the players that turn that sandbox into somewhere you don't want to be. The kind of mentality of as long as i'm having fun who cares about anyone else.

A lot of gamers don't seem to want challenges anymore they just want things to be as easy for them as possible.

Anyway to get back on topic I'll ask again even though BP are not taking any notice of this thread but I can hope!

I wonder what is exactly happening with this new ammo, is it getting removed and when and what ammo is being added for strikes?

Are they going to get some armour peircing rounds so they can actually kill all these double DC packing fens and aesirs?
