Default Computer Freeze while playing, what should I do?

Since the new update I had a several crashes, only happened once before the update; but today my computer froze. I was playing in muspell helping a noob with plats and my screen froze, thought it was another unity crash but no, this time my entire computer froze. I could not even reset it, I had to shut it off manually. I can not have that so, what do I do?

I can not keep playing if this happens, so I will check on the forums, but I really would like to play again so if there is anything anyone can do please help

my computer is a laptop, acer and I have a great modem, cable dsl, and my laptop is top of its line, I was playing this game since August with this laptop.

Hi

While Unity Player does indeed cause the game browser to crash, I have not heard or experienced the game to cause my entire system to freeze up to a none recoverable state.

Did you try CTRL+ALT+DELETE and start the task manager to End some tasks?

If not and it happens again please try this.

Thanks
BT

BrokenTusk: you really need to have folks check your internal SQA process or h/w setup. Many of us have blue screens or hard locks as well as the browser crashes. IE9 seems most vulnerable to having the severe issues. Or share with us your teams "magic setup" for the machines that don't seem to have the issues us players are having.

There must be enough clues for your dev team by now. And this Unity crisis started with symptoms in the Feb 8th patch. After that patch many started to see random Unity crashes that we had never seen before EVER.

If it's proving challenging to fix why don't not regress to an older build asap until it has been corrected? The game is really unplayable for many. And surely it's going to impact your bottom line?!? Is it that hard to change back to an older code release?

For the people I play with they uninstalled Unity. Then without unity installed they tried to login then they wore given the option to download Unity Player and did that. Had much better results after that!

Hi

I am not sure if you caught Stux's post the other day, but forum moderators are not Devs, we don't work for Big Point nor are we ever likely to step foot in there Offices as I personally live 7500 miles away.

We are just regular players that volunteer to keep the forums polite and helpful and offer tips from personal experience.

Like I said BSGO has never caused my system to lock up so bad that is crashed beyond recovery. And while it could very well be that the users system has "hard locked" I find that its always best to start with simple solutions first and work from there, rather than jumping to the worst case scenario first and have people try and do complex and unnecessary tasks.

Thanks BT. Understand you are a mod but you are also our communication path to BP devs and others, right? So I'm just tyring to get feedback in as this is a reporting forum and we're all reporting major issues from the last patch.

Can you tell me what browser you are using? Sounds like it is working better than what many of us are using. Also what version on Unity do you have installed?

Guess the most annoying thing about this bad Unity situation is the poor communication. It would really be helpful to have better communication back to the user community even if it's to say "nothin yet folks but we're looking into it still...". And to also explain why a roll-back or regress to an earlier build isn't possible. Many of us are baffled again as to why keep the game going in such a bad shape when it's clearly frustrating and driving away your customers. What is there to lose from a regression until Jammer is fixed?

Hi

I personally use Google Chrome, and I currently have Unity Player Version 3.5.3. Remember Unity does not automatically update so its always best to check you are running the lastest version. Also make sure your updating Java scripting as well.
