[MODERATED] is a damn good player - he's got everything he has by grinding - and he's racked up the kills he has by wiping out any Cylon player he encounters - be it high or low level.

Ask any high level Cylon escort & line player who plays BSG around the same time he does - odds are they ve encountered him before & probably lost.... he goes after all Cylons, not just noobs.

I should know: I introduced him to the game - me and him used to fly together... up until where I switched over to the Cylons, giving me a unique insight concerning him - both as a former ally (& current friend), and now his current ingame-enemy. Granted: I ve only died once to him after a prolonged battle... but thats more due to not running into him since, than anything else.

He's a good player - arguably one of the most skilled on the colonial side. I know there is very few players I will hesitate to attack - but he is one of them.
I'm sorry Ian but i think you get all this discution wrong. No one said here that your friend is not a good player, let's say he's the best one and also this is a war game but if any high lvl player go after ANY enemy disregarding the lvl ( kill even lvl 1 players) that means something is very wrong inside his head and for sure he need to see a doctor

i agree.a good player he may be,but going after low lvls even a lvl 1 and that way discurige that new player from play this game is not good.i my self has reached lvl 9 despite of cylon players attacking me specaly when i farm minerals.those few lvl 11 today who attacked me i guess they got a surprice when i turned and answerd their attacks at me and they even got PAWNED by a lvl 9 colonial.i say leave those low lvls alone and let them grow to an acceptable lvl were they have a chance to fight back and even win the fight.any cylon players who wana tango with me in the game then just look for MenBer thats me in the game.but i can promise you will be fired upon if you attack me boom boom your cylon ship is gone.hehe

Some general remarks:

1) There's a big difference between shooting a low lvl player in high threat sectors and doing the same in "noob systems" (I read it: low threat sytems)
2) There's a big difference between shooting an occasional low lvl player and "farming"/ going after low lvl players
1+2=3) There's a big difference between shooting an occasional low lvl player in a (for him) high threat sector and going to (for him) low lvl home sectors to farm low lvl players.

The fact that I don't understand why some people seem to farm low lvls doesn't mean that offhandedly I can't imagine a couple of scenarios where I'd consider high lvl players shooting low lvls as completely justified - apart from OP-bashes/ OP-defenses or any other action where battle groups meet there's conquering/ defending mines, low lvls close to or even associated to a higher lvl target you engage and a couple more that jump to mind...

Any general rule like "I never shoot at low lvls" is too simplistic - and probably next to impossible to live up to.
The same line of thought might easily lead to demands like "don't ever shoot players lower than n (put your favorite number there) below your level" - what's next then? "always throw down the gauntlet before attacking" i.e. challenge a potential target via /OG first?

The original post was about High lvl players farming low lvls in noob systems - some people here seem to have digressed a bit from that specific issue - which might be a valid but surely is a different topic.

And in addition: nobody should be held responsible for anything someone else is doing, even if the one in question is his wing mate - and more so if the one held responsible isn't the wing leader.

We know when killing low lvl is justified and when it is not. what we have stated here is about high lvl players farming noobs regularly in low lvl system.

Come around in evening in any Cylon low lvl systems....you'd get your proof. I mean i am not talking about lvl13-lv30 players who come for fights in these systems...they can and are welcome , coz there is no other place they can fight with someone of their own lvl or strength.

What the problem is when lvl40+ players comes down in group of 7-8 , swooping around outpost in spectris killing anything over and over again is what brings imbalance to the game.

Btw it doesnt even matter, I will be there and there are many others who come too, and we mercilessly kill anyone that does this.

Agree with every thing you said except the last part. If anyone should be held responsible that is the wing leader. If you cannot enforce some simple rules in your wing that means you are not a true leader.

Don't be so adamant and unyielding Oldnoob, cause you might be surprised at what members of your wing do when you are not around.Just saying...

My mistake, probably for lack of command of a language that's not my native one - what I meant to say is that it would be even less of a responsibility when the person in question is NOT the wing leader/ XO of the suspected culprit.

I agree with you that IF he is wing leader, it's a sign of poor leadership, though given that we're talking BSGO and not real life, implying somewhat limited and erratic means of communication with wing members and lack of supervision/ observation, especially if someone acts alone and/ or at times the leader(s) are not even online, I'd be willing to give some benefit of a doubt...
After all: BSGO wings are a part of a game of volunteering players communicating via chat (and if lucky by TeamSpeak or similar means) and not a close-knit real life military organization.
