Thanks for the guide
I now know what setup to use at the right time and at the right place - if it wasn't for this guide, I would have jumped on the escort bandwagon ASAP, now I am tempted to stay on the Raptor for ages!

Hahaha, i second that

With the new ammo, perhaps the damage debuff is now worth taking, to compensate for the extra hits... So many things to play with...

With 5 computer slots though, we can pick and choose, how we wants to play :-)

Btw, has the strength of the emitter been tampered with?

Goose is right, it DOES help boost friendly missiles the trick is to stay in close formation. Most buffs in Raptors only effect at about 250 so it's really important if your flying support that you stay with your wingman.

My biggest problem is that the ES range is way too short. At that range ships have to be huddled together to get an benefit of ES support. Even if you were supporting a Squad the Raptor / Heavy Raider is exposed to incoming fighters and enemy fire at that close off a range. They should make ES range 1500-2000 to support the squad and stay outside of the enemy's DRADIS but 3000 for EW attacks.

The Raptor / Heavy Raider can't kill anything but it would get a point bonus for the assist if a target is killed while hacked.

Unfortunately I disagree with this, my debuffs litterally stop strikes in their tracks and my set up allows my debuffs to cripple lines long enough for other lines to demolish them. Letting me fire off a debuff at 3k would litterally make me invincible...but I would like it for those slider strikes...

Ahhh, but you're missing the actual point. You would not be invincible. 1. You can't participate in direct combat action. (i.e. shoot weapons at the enemy) And 2. someone is going to notice that an EW hit was way harder than it would be merely coming from an Interceptor or Multi-role. At that point in time the search will be on for what will be concluded as being a Command ship in the area. In which case if your Squad doesn't do their job and protect you well you're as good as dead. You have to think about how you and your ship would be used now. Chasing after enemy Strikes will no longer be your job. Coordination is your primary job at that point.

Paradox.. When will you stop wanting bgo to be easy?

Really.. Improve EW?? It's perfect where it is. If you can't decimate most strikes while they're debuffed to a stop then you're doing something wrong. I can do it in my mk7.. If you can't in a FR then you need to adjust your role.

Raptors are easy.

I enjoyed mine for the first 4 months I played. I even grinded 100k tylium to get it in open beta as the choice to use it from the start was not there.

Yeah, I'm only a level 38 Adv Raptor and I'm killing 100+ level strikes left and right on Gem. Course I am running two passive emitter enhancement comps. My emitter and Fire wall rating are already very high. Can't wait to get my guns and comps to level 10 - massive "over" pwnage will ensue.
