I was reading that you guys was looking for new ideas for the game . If so I have one , Object collision damage ... I am tired of players running into planets to uses the bounce off as a move like a slide and to keep their avoidance up . last night I was mining in my line and a strike craft just kept bouncing off the hull of my line and never took any damage because the avoidance never dropped . It seems to me that if any ship was to hit any object at full boost that the ship would be destroyed . Really a strike can fly at full speed into a line and just bounce off ? I have played many flight sims over the years and in all of them If you hit any object in the game that's it game over , your craft explodes and you start over . I hope you guys add this feature into the game . I know it would make the game a lot more fun and would stop the players with no skill from bouncing off the hull of your craft so they can win a fight .Thanks

I believe that collision damage in the game as it currently stands would be a terrible idea.
Before they could implement anything like this, they would have to make great strides in improving the collision detection. I can just see taking 200 damage because I bounced off of empty space, or taking 0 damage because I flew straight through a line or planetoid without touching it. Actually, they would have to fix the hit boxes first as well. Why is a line's/plat's/op's hit box the same size as a strikes? I would suggest improving both of these before even thinking about collision damage. |
