I was trying to remain neutral, but I have to agree with Neutron8. If faction is largely irrelevant to you, then I would request, for the long term benefit of the game and to keep Aquaria the best server, that you go Cylon.

The fundamental flaw in this game is that there is no automatic balancing between factions. What we have here is elite/horde phenomenon. Cylons tend to attract more hard core players (on all the time and well equipped/organized but fewer in number), colonials tend to attract the more casual player in greater numbers. This has resulted in pretty good balance on this server and continues to do so. I fear however, that we are approaching a tipping point, where the sheer number of colonials can no longer be held at bay by well equipped hard core players. When that happens, things will quickly turn overwhelmingly in favour of the colonials permanently. This has happened on virtually every other server, multiple times, and no one is keen to see it happen to our great server as well. What we have now is pretty awesome IMHO, I am keen to see it continue for as long as possible.

Ultimately however, that is just my personal opinion and it is completely your choice of course.

So I ended up picking the Colonial faction, sorry Cylons...
The "kick the can" game sounds like too much fun to pass up!
I'm still unsure of what ship really says "pick me".
All I know is that my play style won't allow me to pick something with low hull points.
I still want to be able to move around and turn well, but don't want to be a sitting duck, like I hear lines can be, although the lines hull points are very attractive, lol...
Also I have no real idea on what order in which to train my skills, so far I have been told by a high level to train my Gunnery/Marksmenship/Precision Fire up first, he didn't say to what level before moving onto the other skills, so I would like to ask you all, how and what order should I train up my skills, so I'm not gimping myself, and making myself weaker than I should be.
Also if there is any Colonial wings that accept new pilots into their ranks, and are nice enough to train them, that would be really nice!

Thanks!

I wonder how many registered Colonials it would take before BP would offer a faction switch...

Well, I believe that my esteemed colleagues (both blue and red veteran players) have failed to mention the third "option" for faction choice. If you speak Portugese (or are adept at google translate) you can probably sign on with the third "faction" here on Aquaria, which is to say...go full Brazilian! I believe all that is required is to trade off resource mining between counterparts on both sides, up to and including running dual accounts. You may want a good waxing to go with the role.

Lmao! Yes indeed, I did overlook that 'faction'! Not too late, as long as he doesn't start showing any moral standards, he will still be eligable to join I believe?

You are quite correct Tazzie: Moral and ethical considerations are most likely checked at the door for membership to that "faction". I am a firm believer that even their targeting brackets should be set up in a different color. Perhaps green or yellow? (would go well with their flag, lol)
