Lets face it... it's a flying brick.. ugly, slow and (in the series) pretty lightly armed...
However whom else loves the butt-ugly things? She may not be as pretty as a Viper or overpowered as a lineship but god bless the Raptor! ![]() |

A good raptor/ heavy raider pilot is a rare thing to find. These exceptional individuals who focus on electronic warefare and support don;t get the glory, but they are even more imp[ortant to a group than the hotshot viper/raider pilots!

On colonial side, I wouldn't have it any other way, until I get my Vanir!
But yes, the Raptor is amazing, especially when you get two Hull plates and get them leveled up, and 2 leveled up Gyros, Dog fighting is a breeze. Esp. once you get four cannons upgraded. That said, I run Recon for my Wing, go in, Scout defenses around Cylon mines, scout systems the fleet is about to go into so they know what's going on in them etc. and fall back. with a 4300 Dradis, and eventually 4800 once I get the 5 Dradis mods upgraded, I can see the other escorts and strikes before I even become a blimp on their radar, allowing me to see the exactly side/strength of the group of players before they even realize I"m in the system, if at all. In a Dogfight, the Raptor can definitely hold its own. I love the Raptor. Best ship in the game next to the Marauder/Rhino.

I'm thankful the Razors have a couple of very good Raptor pilots who aren't afraid to jump into the hot zone
Not to mention their EW going on in the midst of battle. A person who can do BOTH EW and combat is a rare and treasured commodity, and worth their weight in Tylium./hats off to these unsung heroes (and yes, to you frakkin' heavy raider toasters as well). An essential element to any balanced squad.

Nothing like flying ceiling calling out vectors. The Raptor, if the pilot is a dedicated scout, can be the key element of coordination- all Command ships can, but the low cost of operation for a Raptor makes it ideal for heavy traffic battlezones. Missile boat, hybrid or cannon it's an ace in the back slot of a viper diamond, with good potential maneuverability on upgrades. I love my Raptor!

Kind sir, surely you meant to say worth their mass in Tylium? Since weight is negligible in space, as is gravity.
![]() Three cheers for Raptor!!!! We could use more of them in Scorpia. Almost all strikes I see in colonial scorpia are vipers, as am I :/

I can't do anything but get killed in a viper (tho the speed is great fun) I just bought it to see what all the hype was about. I'll gladly take my Rap any day over any ship in the fleet.
