Hi all I too am a newbie to this game and have been playing now for just over 2 weeks getting sick and tired thou of being blasted down by everything over lv 50 that spots my ship!!! am still only lv 14 at the moment and was not prepared for all of the losers that think it is funny if they are lv 100 plus to just frag you as soon as you show up on the screen got any suggestions for a decent wing that can watch my back until I can grasp the controls and build up my defense?? Thanks in advance :-) by the way am colonial

Level 10+ is a deo for all high levels which is why they are attacking you. Try going on the wing list ingame and applying to a wing so they can help you.

level 14+ you are now a deo , you also drop loot and count to kill counts welcome to the world of pvp the only way to go back is make a new character... you know there are people that hunt only level 20's and below. In this game you should have discovered this by now .. ppl may leave you if your grey "might its no guarantee" .. but the moment your white or yellow , uv lost your noob status and those guys with 10k + kills yes they are looking for you .. and your group. And if your caught in a heavy pvp place 9 times out of ten you are just semi fast prey. you will get use to it ... you will change and you will begin to love it, and after that you scream PWNZORD!! at the top of you lungs when you butcher a guy 2x you level then curse when he gets his level 5x your own friend to come pop you. Then something will snap oneday and you will kill anything with a pulse.

If your worried about high levelers coming after you get a viper build it for speed and spam missles... be warned tho there are war raiders out there that hit speeds of 140+ and these WRS often have level 10+ pew pews .. which generaly means for quick death to you if they have turn debuffs .

there are also protected systems in the bottom corner where enemy players can not visit allowing you to play and get yourself better before going out into the big wide world of player v player. when i started i stuck to staying in wegelin until i reached level 20 and thats when i began exploring the far out systems.

Lol I used to do fleet battles when I was a level 7 but then that was on my very first account so I had no idea what I was doing. If you want some good practice then buddy up with another strike that you trust and try killing some of the line npc's in muspell, it will give you lots of experience and scrap to sell. Finally try talking to people and getting a good friendship group going, you'll be mining in safety in no time :)

Thanks for the advice guys didn't realise that you became easy targets so soon in this may have to re think the way I ahve been going about it then...may get to like it but doubt it :cool:

ya its the beauty and flaw of the game .. instant pvp you can pvp at any level :P given the right amount of skill a level 3 can kill a level 40 with very little problems , i have done so on kobol server in a level 3 n00b ship vs a level 40 advanced raider , i wish i coulda seen that fallas face . he musta beeen like * welcome to bsg n00b* , * what the hell hes slideing .... now hes spamming missles easy enough to dodge ... ahh they hit ...hey im debuffed.. wait a minute ... omg hit again ...no wait run, no debuffed again more missles bloodly n00bs not a n00b* *hes chaseing me !! its unadvanced and hes winning omgz , *moderated bleh* *moderated*... n00b says /og YEY level 40 loots ty your so awsome :D !!! , veteran *rage quit*

dude its ok...im lvl 15 and it happens to me all the time...i never complained ^_^ im also a newbie in this game..its fun, just look at the bright side...at least you did'nt die without firing some ammo :) but to really enjoy this game even for a newbie like us is to participate in OP's and go where the action is, at least that's what im doin..i dont care if i got pawned a lot, i just repair my ship then go back to the hot zone...i dont attacked highlvl players but if i see a fellow cyclons attack a colonial, 90% of the time i go assist...looking forward to engaging u in battle if ur in virgon ^_^ ...

hello there ghostblade i am unaware if you have made up your mind at the moment i just want ti make you aware of my wing, 67th_Colonial_Battleflet__Devision, we have playrs of levels ranging from 6-98, our linrr count stands at 4 aesirs, 2 vanirs, 2 advaned vanirs, 1 jotunn, 6 gungirs. Escort: 3 scythes, 3 mauls, 2 glaives and 12 halberss, Striker: 4 mk2, 0 rhinos, 2 raptors and 9 mk7s. We have players from all over the world so there will be someone from your place, i can almost gaurentee it, wd are lokingfor active members only as we do like to terrorise cylons :]

Left for another server after my old wing decided level 40 was minimum requirement and discovering the server was full of no-lifers, making it more difficult to establish.
