Sorry to bother you, but I see the forum is how to say it...without many new topics, so because of my lazy behave I decided to make new topic.

And here is my question: Why there was an upgrade for the Fenrir/Aesir class for 100k cubits.

What are the reasons to do such thing? What is the motive?

P.s. Sorry but as I said earlier I'm lazy to do the research and actually I'm pretty sure there are good people who love to write in the forum and with no hesitation some will answer me :P

IMHO there was not real reason. It IMO messed the game up. Best guess is one it was and easy way to claim to have new ship and two cubit grab.

From the release notes when this change was introduced:

Advanced Ships


New Advanced versions are being introduced for the following ships:
Glaive – adds 1 Medium Hull Slot.
Spectre – adds 1 Medium Hull Slot.
Aesir – adds 1 Large Hull Slot and 1 Large Computer Slot.
Fenrir – adds 1 Large Hull Slot and 1 Large Computer Slot.
Rhino – adds 1 Small Weapon Slot in a rear arc.
Marauder – adds 1 Small Weapon Slot in a rear arc.

A better option would be to have added a merit upgrade option for it as well as for all the other non merit ships. Merits are easy to get now and the other ships need balancing so the servers are not full of the same 3 or 4 ships all the time.

But of course a cubit grab is more appealing to BP.

Thats why they are adding more ships which will no doubt be mostly cubit ships instead of sorting out the ones we have.
These will probably be a little better than the ones we have now so that everyone needs a new ship and we get left with a load more ships that are not worth flying.
