base star vs base ship name change

Have you bothered watching the original? The proper name is Base Stare, not Baseship! And Baltar became a Cylon Commander not a Colonial Scientist

Since this thread appeared, I've tried to think of anything less worthy of concern than what you call the Cylon motherships as compared to all the other issues in this game.

I don't recall ever hearing the term "Base Stare," but spotting a Base Star struck fear into the rag-tag fugitive fleet.

And let's not forget Commander Adama moonlighting selling dog food on the side. ;)

I'm not criticizing you or your question. I just have some constructive information for you to pursue.

The book "Encyclopedia Galactica" names and defines it as "Base Ship." However, it was called by both names in the original series. The re-imagined series calls it a Base Star. My suggestion is, that you try writing to Glen Larson, the original creator of the "Battlestar Universe." You could also try searching the net for Star Log Magazine. They did extensive research and interviews into the entire Sci-Fi genre. I'm not sure if the magazine is still being published, but worth a look.
